Seoladh Raidió Fáilte

category antrim | arts and media | news report author Friday September 15, 2006 19:05author by Ciarán Ó Brolcháinauthor email ciaranobrolchain at hotmail dot com Report this post to the editors

Bhí ócáid i Halla Cathrach Bhéal Feirste inniu ag am lóin chun seoladh Raidió Fáilte a cheiliúradh.
Raidió Fáilte, 107.1fm
Raidió Fáilte, 107.1fm

Bhí scaifte breá i Halla na Cathrach, idir óg agus aosta, mhúinteoirí agus mhic léinn, chainteoirí dúchais agus fhoghlaimeoirí, lucht feachtais agus dhíograiseoirí teanga le seoladh Raidió Fáilte a cheiliúradh.

Chuir Fergus Ó hÍr, bainisteoir an stáisiúin, chuir sé fáilte roimh an lucht éisteachta agus dúirt sé go mbeadh Raidió Fáilte ag freastal ar Ghaeilgeoirí na cathrach, ach go mbeadh siad "ag tógáil droichid idir an pobal Gaeilge agus daoine nach raibh an deis acu an teanga fhoghlaim go fóill. Beidh muid ag iarraidh daoine nach bhfuil Gaeilge acu nó atá ar bheagán Gaeilge a mhealladh chugainn agus comh maith leis sin, beidh muid ag oscailt doras na Gaeilge do dhaoine nach bhfuil Béarla acu nó atá ar bheagán Béarla."

Ansin léigh Ainle Ó Cairealláin teachtaireach óna athair Gearóid amach. Bhí Gearóid ar bhunaitheoirí agus ina phríomh-spiorad tomána Raidió Fáilte. Tá sé go fóill san otharlann faoi láthair ach sa teachtaireacht dúirt sé go ndéanfaidh sé clár a chraoladh óna leaba bhreoiteachta más gá.

Labhair Ferdia Mac an Fhailigh, Príomhfheidhmeannach Fhoras na Gaeilge a thug maoniú do Raidió Fáilte. Arsa Ferdia: "Le cois na siamsaíochta agus an tsoláthair eile a bheidh ar fáil, tá fostaíocht i gceist, tá oiliúint i gceist, go háirithe don aos óg, dhá rud a chinnteoidh go bhfuil todhchaí na Gaeilge slán ó thaobh na heacnamaíochta de agus ó thaobh aistriú teanga ó ghlúin go glúin."

Bhí Bob Collins, Príomhchoimisinéir an Chomisiún Comhionannais, bhí sé ar an chainteoir deiridh agus dhruid sé an ócáid le tagairt de bhunú stáisiún eile: "Lá Coille na bliana 1926, bhí Dúglas de hÍde i gceannas ar oscailt 2RN agus ina chuid cainte rianaigh sé go soiléir an nasc idir chumarsáid agus cultúr, nasc, dar liomsa, atá ar cheann de bhun-fhíorais aon tuisceana ar chraolachán seirbhíse poiblí. Ina dhán cáiliúil, 'The Epic' dúirt Patrick Kavanagh

... I enclined
To lose my faith in Ballyrush and Gortin
Till Homer's ghost came whispering to my mind
He said: I made the Iliad from such
A local row. Gods make their own importance
."

Ba shin deireadh leis na himeachtaí agus cuireadh fáilte leis an scaifte dul chuig an Chultúrlann le haghaidh greim bia agus deoch fíona.

Ar 5in inniu chuir Eoghan Ó Neill an chéad chlár beo i láthair ar na haerthonnta, i ndiaidh teachtaireachta ón Uachtarán Máire Mhic Giolla Íosa, a dúirt: "Cuireann sé áthas mór orm fáilte a chur roimh Raidió Fáilte, an chéad stáisiún raidió Gaeilge i dTuaisceart Éireann.

Tá an glór pobail úrnua seo ag teacht chun cinn le linn tréimhse ina bhfuil dóchas mór agus deiseanne suntasacha mórthimpeall orainn. Chreid céad Uachtarán na hÉireann, an Dr. Dubhghlas de hÍde, an Craoibhín Aoibhinn, go daingean go bhféadfadh an Ghaeilge a bheith ina nasc idir gach traidisiún agus tá curaidh ó gach cúlra agus creideamh meallta ag an teanga álainn ársa seo síos tríd na blianta.

Tá súil agam go bhfaighidh gach duine a labhraíonn an teanga, iad siúd a bhfuil suim acu inti agus iad siúd a bhfuil fiosrach ina leith, fíorchairdeas agus fáilte mhór ó Raidió Fáilte.

Creidimse go mbeidh ról lárnach ag Raidió Fáilte sa todhchaí nua atá saoránaigh Thuaisceart Éireann ag leagan amach dóibh féin, agus go gcabhróidh sé le cruthú na gcuimhní, na dtaithí agus na suimeanna comhchoiteanna a chuireann deireadh le deighilt agus a chruthaíonn cairdeas idir strainséirí.

Guímse blianta fada rathúla, suimiúla agus siamsúla ar Raidió Fáilte, a fhoireann oibre, a rannpháirtithe agus a lucht éisteachta."

Fair Play agus sibh ag coinneáil an bhratach Gaelach ag eitilt i tír seo. Bhí mise féin thall i mbéil Féirste i 2001 ag céilllúradh le comharchumann ceeoltóirí Andytown. Ana scléip a bhí sa Maddan's agus Crusher ag ligint air go raibh sé ina Christie Moore. Dónal Ó Chonchobair ar a bhfidil, Maxi ina láithir.

Ach, an chuimhne is mó ná Fáilte FM ar an raidió phóca an lá ar lug - sár-cheoil, sár-chraic agus an teeanga is mó chomh maith.

Chan mé amhrán Gaelach i Maddan's agus dúradh liom go raibh sé contuartach an Gaeilge a labhairt o a rá os ard in aon áit phoiblí go dtí sin sa Bhéal Féirste thiar. Ana bhródúil agus meas a'am as an chomhluadar ann - an chéad Gaelteacht eile ná Béil Féirste go deimhin is le Bréag:-).
