Al-Qaida attacked the WTC in 1993, trained Somali tribesmen to shoot down helicopters in Mogadishu, bombed US embassies in Tanzania and Kenya in 1998, attempted to sink the USS Cole in Yemen in 1998, demolished the WTC and Pentagon on 9/11, attacked Casablanca, Sharm el Sheik, Anakara, Istanbul, Islambad, Bombay, Madrid, London, Moscow, Beslan, Bali and commit daily atrocities on the streets of Baghdad.

Al-Qaida is using terror to fight a global war.

The War on Terror is bogus. Al-Qaida were created, funded and trained by the CIA in conjunction with the ISI of Pakistan.

The key person -the bomb maker in the attack of WTC in 1993 was a FBI agent and actually requested to swap the bomb, but he was told to go ahead as reported in the book: The Oklahoma City Bombing and the Politics of Terror which can be found online at: http://www.constitution.org/ocbpt/ocbpt.htm

But the key point is, if CIA or some sub-group within it, control Al-Qaida and it is clear that they do, then clearly the controllers are terrorists. In many of the cases quoted above the timing of events and the way they suited the political agenda and motives at the time are awfully coincidental.

But lets make a rough body count from all these 'attacks' listed above. It probably comes to a few thousands. However in the most recent 'incident' in Lebanon, 1800+ were murdered and millions were terrorised. Then lets take Iraq, estimates suggest 180,000 dead at this stage and the entire population of 22 million are terrorised daily. Then lets take the deaths from sanctions during the 1990s in Iraq. Again very reliable estimates put this in the million+ bracket. One could go on with a long list from elsewhere.

What we have is industrial scale terrorism on a mass scale against tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions of people by the so called representatives of freedom. Lets get our priorities right here.

But lets compare and contrast. The number of people killed by terrorism in both Europe and the US is vainishly small and probably no more than a few hundred, although highly regrettable. However the number of deaths from road accidents per year in Europe is of the order of 66,000 and 49,000 for USA (1998 figures). So where is the billions spent to save these lives? Why has the US military budget since 2001 increased by anywhere from $100 to $200 billion increased, but almost no increase made for road safety. Are they really concerned about saving lives?? No.

Yes indeed the War on Terror is truly bogus and it is used soley to serve as a political pretext for other motives.

The U..S. government's attempt to combat terrorism is bogus. If Washington was sincere about putting an end to islamic terrorism, then surely they wouldn't try stopping the Russians and Israelis from taking action whenever they need to defend themselves and their countries against cowardly religiously motivated attacks on the Russian and Israeli population.

Even before the right wing French prime minister de Villepin commented to journalists last week that the "there is no war on terror" many of us on the left thought it was a myth. I'd suggest it is a very succesful myth because it borrows so much from conspiracy theories - usefully defined as non-logical & often irrational explanations for important historic occurences which are based on the idea of one unitary secret group of people.

Al Qaeda is such a construct. One of the earlier commentators Ron wrote out a list of atrocities to prove the war on terror wasn't bogus. It's a good list Ron. Most people forget the Casablanca and the Paradise hotel bombings. Most people sadly just confine their list to the 3 "elevens", (NYC, Madrid & non-mathematically London's 7/7 which factored on seven not eleven).

But very few people try and justify a "war on terror" declared & first mentioned in the USA five years ago by beginning their timeline with the Tanzanian US embassy bombings. Perhaps because that wasn't the "war on terror". It was the "terrorists' war on the US". Something which most analysts date to the various fatwas which gave the right (in some peoples' eyes) to individuals in the Islamic world to fight a "jihad". The first of such fatwas was issued by the now dead spiritual leader of Iran & the leader of its islamic revolution. But that fatwa did not extend to excusing the killing of civilians. Without boring you, technically the first murders of "jihad" as opposed to territorial disputes (best illustrated by the Afghan resistance to the Soviets which combined Bin Laden, the Taliban an the northern alliance) in the final years of the 20th century. But the response on the part of the west was not described as a "war on terror" simply as "counter -terrorist operations". Thus in response to the bombing of the US embassies in Africa, Clinton authorised cruise missile attacks on Bin Laden who was located through his sat phone.
I stayed awake till 3am barcelona time to video tape Bush's presidential address on the anniversary of September 11 this morning. I did so because it's useful material for my students ( I teach communication to professional types many of whom are in international banking and risk assessment ). In that speech Bush attempted to justify the invasion of Iraq as part of his "war on terror". But we know Saddam Hussein did not support Al Qaeda and that in fact for many ideological reasons the social vision of Bin Laden & Zawahari was diametrically opposed to the secularist Baathist regimes of Iraq & Syria. (Though both were and still are accused of sponsoring terror) but not of "harbouring" terrorists. A distinction so fine it begs you to shout "b-o-g-u-s".
Now I know it starts getting complicated (which is why the bogus truth of the war on terror is ignored so much) but though Ron's list was impressive - it was flawed. The bombings of Casablanca & Madrid were linked through several individuals. none of whom were Al Qaeda are had been to the terrorist harbour of Afghanistan . They were in fact members of an extremist Moroccan based group. Now many us might group the red brigade, the IRA, the INLA, the UVF, FARC, AUC, ETA & november 17 as all being the same. But most of us know they weren't or aren't.

So the USA under Bush presented us with a myth. that we are facing one common enemy with one leadership or even tangible goals or aims. We are not. There is no war on terror there is only counter-terrorism & the illegal invasion of Iraq & the failed reconstruction of Afghanistan.

If there was a war on terror which de villepin or I could understand - then the UN and the EU and everyone would have been able to agree on a binding definition of "terrorism & terrorists" which accounted for the legitimacy of Nelson Mandela in government, and Palestinians efforts for statehood.

They didn't.

News Channels in Ireland are told not to report the ever increasing mass demonstrations taking place in America against the cover-up of 9/11.
Senior Irish Police Cheifs and Ministers have and continue to travel to the U.S. to get briefed in Population control methods with the C.I.A and F.B.I.
Abbylara was a typical example when F.B.I. Agents were drafted 'in' (they were already here) to 'investigate' the situation wher E.R.U. Agents murdered John Carty. Just a test Case for Public reaction to what is coming down the track to keep the Citizens in place.

It was reported today that:

A Senior Syria government official has accused the US of being behind Tuesday's assault on its own embassy in downtown Damascus.

So there you have it. He goes on to say:

He explained, "Only the Americans can succeed in carrying out an attack just 200 meters from President [Bashar] Assad's residence in the most heavily guarded section of Syria."

The official charged that Washington had orchestrated the attack to "prove Syria is filled with terrorists and to put us in a weak position" in order to extract political concessions. Following the attack, Bush administration officials said they hoped the incident had convinced Damascus of the dangers of Islamic terror and the need to cooperate with the West against the phenomenon.


So in other words this is what the War on Terror is about. Its a thin cover for Imperialism. Either you are with us or against us stuff.
