Peter Hitchens is right, says Joanna Gray: labelling a child as 'dyslexic' only means they give up trying to read. We think we're helping by giving them 'support' but all we've done is undermined their confidence.

Yes, there known in NATO as UXO: Unexploded Ordnance, a "Dud" if you please. Care to opine on the number of Dud Katyushas waiting in Israel? Several German S-Mines were recently found in Belgium, It happens all the time.

"It happens all the time"??? Do you think that makes it ok?
I remind you that Hizballa did not send ground troups into Israel. So I doubt that any of these unexploded bombs were left in Israel. Do you have a press release that says they were?

Please stop trying to make the conflict look equal on both sides. It's not.

Indeed according to hizbollahs leader they kicked Israels arse so it was a one sided conflict in lebanons favour(not the lebanese governments favour though, just the shia terrorist organisation camped out in the south of the country)

you know the ones im talking about? the ones that build schools and hospitals for everyone and put massive military complexes underneath them, caring as they are.

And the Israelis, with their usual sensitivity, rumble in and destroy a few city blocks in beirut and all main streets in all the border towns

all in all a waste for both sides, another pointless confrontation

The Israelis fired hundreds of thousands of artillery rounds, missiles and bombs into Lebanon. Hezbolla fired 3 thousand maximum into Israel.

Israel was able to back track from hits inside Israel back to the launchers in Lebanon, therefore they know where any duds landed to the same margin of error as where the launchers that fired them are.

The same can not be said for the Lebanese whose infrastructure including radar, fire brigades etc. was all knocked out.

The Lebanese will be cleaning up the Israelis mess for years.

Common sense says that a certain amount of Ordnance will not detonate upon reaching it's target. Whether Fuzed as Airburst or Point Detonating or Delay.

I've personnally seen numerous Katyusha rockets which failed to explode,122mm being the worst offenders.

So yes there are guaranteed to be some fired by Hezzbollah that will be UXO, so please save the Hezzbollah Advert, their Ordnance is the same as every other's, or grab a spanner and give one a good whack on the nose, see what happens.

I have this to say for all you Israel sypathizers: Before you put Hizballa down, ask yourself, do you even know who they are or what they stand for? They are a defence militia, socialist in nature, who have taken up the task of defending Arab national rights, land and dignity. While the "legitimate" arab leaders receive their CIA cheques every month, Hizballa represent pure and humane values. If you look at Hizballa's war tactics it is obvious that their strategy is defensive - not offensive. Furthermore, their leader, Nasralla, is a man of great composure, intelligence and honesty. (Unlike most western leaders, for that matter.)

But for some of you I know you will never realize this truth. And I know why. When you see lebanese or any muslim or arab people die, deep down - maybe very deep down - you feel a little bit of pleasure... and think to yourself: " Oh well, the world could do with less Muslims and Arabs around... those damn terrorists."
This is a harsh accusation I make, yes. And you may think I don't have the evidence to back up what I'm saying. But it doesn't matter. I know that you know what the I'm talking about. I see you for the racists that you are.

Hmmm... Not all Lebanese are Muslim boyo,
Many Lebanese Citizens are Maronite Christian, does the Hizz represent them or Kill them?

author by An Arabpublication date Thu Aug 17, 2006 18:09author address author phone Report this post to the editors

Good question. Hizballa respects and represents all Lebanese people, as would be clear to anyone listening to Nasralla's speeches.

What I was saying in my earlier text and I'll repeat now is that some Westerners hate both arabs and muslims. They hate arabs who are not muslim and muslims who are not arabs. But the worst combination for these racists is an arab who is also a muslim.

I am a christian arab myself (non-practicing) and have experienced racism in Europe and the USA. Most people in the West assume I am Muslim just because I say I'm Arab. When I reveal that I happen to be christian, I detect that I'm suddenly despised a little bit less.

This anti-islam and anti-arab feeling, at least in the USA, seems to be fueled by a resurgence of fanatical christians in that country. The USA today, is the christian equivalent of saudia arabia in the level that religion permeates daily life there. Especially in the south and west of that country.

hizbollah have said that they will pay for peoples homes that were destroyed in the conflict. they will also launch insurance policies against future conflicts to protect lebanese people and make sure that they can have a home, as a result they are going to float a subsidary on the lebanese stock exchange
called hiz.corp with the stock ticker *arab*

iran will issue subordanated debt in the new company to the tune of 10 billion usd

this stock is a guarenteed winner and i seriously suggest you get on board

they also offer a hit or miss policy on katushyas on Israelis. You can place bets on how many/where they will land and how many people they could kill, hiz.inc. has also announced that it will hedge this by taking out futures with Iran and the wider arab world, who have guaranteed a hitters fee to hiz.inc for every rocket successfully launched
