The Final Leg of the Long Walk

Join the Rossport Walkers

Join the Rossport Walkers for the final leg of the Long Walk from Rossport to Dublin

The Rossport Walkers will complete the Long Walk on Saturday 12th August. To date they have received a tremendous response from the public as they have made their way through villages and towns from Mayo through Roscommon, Longford, Westmeath and Kildare. The final leg of the 300km journey will see the walkers travel from Lucan to Kilmainham Gaol and on into the city centre.

On the final leg the Mayor of Dublin Vincent Jackson will welcome the walkers to Dublin city at 12noon at Kilmainham Gaol. They will proceed into the city centre for a short rally at the GPO at about 1.15pm. The route of the walk into the city is set out below so if you have some time to spare on Saturday please come out and show your support.

Just to let people know, the speeches at the GPO will be very short, so those who are inclined to will be able to get away in time to watch Dublin play Westmeath at Croke park. The throw-in for the match is at 4PM.
