Take a look at this![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is frightening It might seem hard to believe here in freezing, rain sodden Ireland (Global Warming - The culprit?) but most of North America is sweltering and suffering from a record breaking drought that's causing huge forest fires that have shrouded much of the Eastern half of North America in a dense choking smog and now the latest satellite photographs show this dense choking smog heading across the Atlantic towards us. So I guess we'll all be smelling smoke in a few days. If you want to check it out further go to the link above on IndyMedia UK. This is what awaits us with global warming. More and more extremes of weather - longer and more severe droughts, more forest, grassland and bush fires, more violent storms, tornadoes and hurricanes, more flooding and possibly even the greatest contradiction of all! - According to some scientists, some parts of the World, instead of heating up with the Greenhouse Effect will instead suffer a mini Ice Age. Western Europe (Ireland included!) is thought to be especially vulnerable to this mini Ice Age because for reasons that would take far too long to explain here, global warming will seriously diminish, if not eliminate totally the Gulf Stream, which keeps our climate free of the extremes experienced elsewhere in the World. |

Jump To Comment: 1 2Here's 2 comments that were mailed to me directly about my article on the record breaking breaking drought and raging forest fires across large parts of the North American continent. As neither of the 2 correspondents told me to keep their messages private, I'm republishing them exactly as they came to me with no alterations. Quite clearly from what both correspondents have said something quite serious is going on. Looks like our planet is fu**ked unless we start altering our lifestyles radically and quickly!
"im geoffrey young from imc winnipeg and ottawa and ontario. the cbc has been doing coverage of the fires in northern quebec. smoke from these fires is in the air as far as washington dc so ny, mtl, toronto etc are all getting smoke. Its supposedly dozens of separate forest fires burning there. If examining the drout condition you must consider flooding in texas (thats called come-uppins) and the red river in southern manitoba/northern north dakota. theres probably lots of saskachewan dust bowl pictures to be found also. drout there is worse than the 30s dust bowl in the us. at the same time theres a destertic provincial park in manitoba where the desert is disappearing to greenery. sierra club and reggional environmental groups may be of help. Also, a side story would be the increase in chamtrail activity. The town of espanola in central ontario is a good example. Its the spraying of substances, particularly a silver sulphate and sopmething called carbon black. may sound nutty but its allegedly weather modification experiments. thats my 2 cents on that."

Here's another eyewitness account of the terrible smog resulting from the record breaking drought over much of North America that's affecting the Eastern half of North America that I received in my email today. This is from a girl in Downtown New York.
"hey all--
just wondering... has anyone seen any news coverage of
this incredible smog covering the city? i know it's
from fires in quebec; the wsj made a brief mention of
it yesterday. other than that, i haven't seen a
thing. but my throat is hella sore, my allergies are
a-ragin', and i'd love to know what's in the air!
thanks.
