Buy, Sell, Trade, Talk
For those who have not been to a computer fair before, a computer fair is no different from any other market in that it is composed of stalls run by various vendors. Each vendor pays a small fee for the space they occupy and uses it to display and sell their goods. The sale that takes place is a transaction between the vendor and the customer and has nothing to do with the organizer of the fair.
In Blooms Hotel, in Temple Bar Hey All,
I'm in the process of organising a computer fair. This has been something
that has been posted in a few different places already.
So you may have gotten wind of it.
If you haven't - well, there's a computer fair being organised Smile
and in 3 weeks no less!
Obviously, the urgent need right now is for vendors and people that have
items to sell to register / show their interest in the event.
http://www.iecf.ie/register
We're going to have a stall(s) setup and manned, so that people who wish
to sell only like 1 or 2 items etc. can simply leave their item with
that stall (with details of the item, it's condition and an asking price
- and we will take offer's or sell if the asking price is met, and we'll
txt ya when it's sold). There will be no charge for this service.
This is a small fair, so there are only places for about 15 stalls
(there is a floor plan on the site now). This event is kinda to
test the waters and see what potential there is for bigger city centre fairs.
If all goes well, I want to put on another bigger event - and then based on
that bigger event, I'll be able to see if it's viable to run them every
6-8 weeks (I work 9-5.30, so this is just a side project for me, so
we'll see a few months down the road if anything comes out of it).
Currently, we have 2 confirmed vendors - I know, a whole 2.
As it happens, there will be adverts running in Buy and Sell, and flipin
anywhere else I can think off. I'll also be handing out flyers outside peats
and a few other computer places over the next few weeks and I'll try and
get some posters chucked up in triners too.
So, for right now, if you're thinking "cool, I must check it out" or
"hey, I can bring that old crappy external cd-burner I don't want and they'll
sell if for me", then please register on the site:
http://www.iecf.ie/register
It doesn't commit you to anything, but it shows vendors the support we have
from people in the community and the possibility for people to actually come
to the event. It's kindof a "catch 22" thing.
I also want to rope one of the big corporations like Dell or some such to
donate something to an on-the-day free raffle. that would be cool, but
that's a different story.
Anyway!
That's it.
hey, did I forget to mention to "register"? geez, I've forgotten, register!
http://www.iecf.ie/register
Thanks!
Shane
