It's been exasperating to watch as, in defiance of the wishes of Western electorates, the cultural make-up of our countries is radically transformed. It's time to scrap the asylum system, says Lionel Shriver.

Germany's 'firewall' against the AfD is set to saddle voters with the same pro-migration Leftoid Government they're desperate to get rid of. When will the Right realise the Left has them over a barrel, asks Eugyppius.

Sometimes Trump's mercantilist thinking is so radical as to be wildly, crazily brilliant, as with the Gaza Riviera plan. But on Ukraine it's letting him ? and the West ? down, says Ian Rons.

Shell To Sea takes to the skies

Aerial survey of Rossport and Bellanaboy

Shell To Sea have taken to the skies over Rossport to get a better view of Shell's destruction of the area.

The Shell To Sea air corp have begun surveying Shell's construction sites in the Rossport/Bellanaboy area to help monitor the multi million Euro fiasco.

From the skies above Sruth Fada Conn it is clear to see how the oil giants believed they were in the clear. To anyone blind to the striking natural beauty of the place, all you would see is a barren landscape ready for the taking, with insignificant specks of buildings scattered thinly on the ground.

What Shell/Statoil/Marathon didn't realise is those buildings contain determined induviduals, who collectively have turned into a community force to be reckoned with, capable of derailing a billion Euro destruction project and silencing one of the most arrogant governments known on this island. If only the "opposition" had the same kind of courage...

The continuing surface water problem at the Bellanaboy hole in the bog has clearly not been solved. Several months of unhindered water treatment has still resulted in a waterlogged site, even in the middle of a super dry spell in the middle of the summer. When are Shell County Council going to pull their finger out and take charge of our environment?

Helicopters are the most dangerous form of transport. The number of people killed in helicopter accidents per mile travelled is higher than for planes, trains or motor-cars. In taking those people up for a helicopter ride, you were subjecting them to a far higher risk of death than Shell are. From your photos it looks like young children were among those subject to that risk. In addition, helicopter accidents invariably result in the helicopter crashing to the ground from a great height with calamitous results for anyone underneath. If Shell are forced out to sea, there will be thousands of helicopter flights annually over that part of Mayo. Statistically, there would be a far higher risk of death or injury to people living under the flight path of those helicopters than there would be from living close to an underground pipeline. In addition, as one poster pointed out, helicopters run on fuel which is what Shell and similar companies actually produce and make profits out of producing. So, from the point of view of opposition to oil companies, this helicopter ride makes as much sense as the protest about the same time last year which involved organising a cavalcade of motor-cars from Mayo to Dublin.

The issue of garnering and obtaining information would take precedence over the fear of flying pieces
attached to the story, well done lads. Play them at their own game.
BTW: Helicopters are completely taken for granted by the 'elite' as are private planes.

Aerial survey should not only be in the hands of the violaters of Irish law, but in the victims. I would suggest you send copies to Noel Dempsey's constituents.

Moral minnies: contribute to the next flight.(pass round the cap).

"From your photos it looks like young children were among those subject to that risk. "

it was a joke John, that isn't really the pilot and co-pilot.
It's funny...
You know, coz they're too young to really fly a helicopter...
And it's a cute photo
sigh.
sense of humor required i guess.

Shell To Sea have taken to the skies over Rossport to get a better view of Shell's destruction of the area. Our new air division will be making routine reconnaissance missions over the area to ensure our oily invaders don't have the upper hand on espionage and information gathering.

Specially trained pilots will ensure the people of Erris have regular air reports, which will be used as part of a new integrated strategic defence initiative in partnership with our naval vessels.

Our new mobile command features a state of the art communications centre that will process all informations and ensure the world knows about this doomend Shell/Statoil/Marathon/Government project.

Stay tuned for further reports:

Great work folks and well said as usual JM.

Remember the banner at the head of last October's rally after the release of the '5', a photo of which is in the current brIlliant 'Shell to Sea - Protect Irish Natural Resources' flyer ... which says:

DEMPSEY PUMPS FOR SHELL.

Since helicoptor seviced gas installations are a routine part of the industry in the North Sea, Carribean and elsewhere - I fail to see the logic in your arguements. Me thinks we have a Shell PR troll in the house!!! - By any chance would your sir name be Cronin or Egan??? - All making sense now - Interesting how you've just purchsed an air-strip near the golf-club at Carne Belmullet on the QT- Suggests that Shell aren't that scared of flying when it suits them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
