CNN bias on Drumcree

news report
Monday July 08, 2002 08:11 by firewoman
Cnn's Northern Ireland correspondent while reporting on the clashes with police at Drumcreereffered several times to them being denied their "right" to march. CNN's northern Ireland correspondent Diana Muriel while reporting on the orange parade showed a strong bias towards the loyalists. She reffered several times to the trouble in the past and present occuring because of the orangemen being denied their "right" to march. Not in the context of "their past right" or "their percieved right". She also spent a good deal of her time speaking about the unionists feeling that they had a connection with the "war against terror" pointing out the US flags etc.Not to mention that she mispronounced the Garvaghy road several times and in the next report about an hour later also; no one had corrected her in the intervening time! |

I can see the headlines now- major news organisation found to report news in a bias manner. How is this shit allowed on indymedia? Can we not do better than this?
Just because you have heard it before doesn't mean it isn't worth reporting, hows about "the Israeli military has killed innocent civillians"? "Corporations are corrupt" or maybe the astounding fact that politicians get bribed. Just reporting the news Doopa.
