Opus Dei's Requiem for Tara and Celtic Ireland

category meath | history and heritage | press release author Saturday June 03, 2006 03:06author by Con Connor - Ireland's Druidschool Report this post to the editors

Their emperors suit is see thru.....

On Saturday, the 13th of May 2006, the day of the Full Moon of Beltine, the Opus Dei Lismullin Institute charged E50 to hear an all day talk about Opus Dei's plans for our Celtic Heritage. Opus Dei's Lismullin Institute in the high valley of the Royal City of Celtic Tara (supported by the state funded Heritage Council) managed to keep everyone silent about the 'problem'. No one was allowed to mention the 'M' word (M3 dual toll road motorway) as there was a dictate (in their promotion) that - "The cut off at 2000 AD is chosen to exclude discussion of the proposed route of the M3 Motorway and to leave more time for learning about the history and traditions associated with the Valley". Those who force this toll road have an agenda that restricts free speech.

Don’t talk about the Motorway
The 'problem' was not the Opus Dei desired focus for the all day conference. Their declared purpose (from their brochure) - "is to inform the wider public of the national importance of the valley in the evolution of the cultural and physical landscape of the area and to provide them with an opportunity to visit it". The focus they forced by their design was a "goodbye to the Gabhra" because they insisted that every one speaks of the Gabhra as if its already gone / deceased for six years. RIP to the little stream / river and its beautiful valley and then everyone was so sad... but not completely, there was a Celtic Druid inside the conference watching and hearing with different eyes and ears and he could see and feel the truth of what was going on.

Conference Report
At the conference - everyone subscribed to the newspeak as requested by the Opus Dei lady who gave the introduction - she said - "they have asked us not to speak about the Motorway". Nobody asked at the introduction "who is it that restricts my freedom of speech?" - nobody even made even a basic polite inquiry about the level of punishment if the dictate was breeched. Every presenter complied and a shadow of sadness at the loss of Tara descended on the assembled and their professors. This speech choking worked until the end of the day when the "problem" reared its ugly head a little but by that time the day was done.

Requiem for Tara
The Opus Dei inspired Requiem for Tara illusion can be seen to have worked by their overlords. They got some of Ireland's leading academics to restrain their professing, observing the dictate placed by an unknown without a single objection being raised. The general public also fell under the restriction as the professionals cast the dark blanket of limited expression as a spell over the multitude. The Heritage Council supported this conference with public money. Opus Dei has made no objections to the proposed M3 double troll road, no attempt to actually do something positive to preserve and protect the "national importance of the valley in the evolution of the cultural and physical landscape of the area" that they want to only talk about. But they are very happy to host the Wake.

A long time ago before the spin doctors almost destroyed the freedom for spiritual opportunity to everyone there was an easy chance to be spiritual. Today the tv has consumed much consciousness and the tv addicts respond with anger when some one with news of the truth asks them to look out side the box. The cultural crap being drip fed to the general joe and joesephine is mostly americam one world global agenda crap. Why the Irish majority buy into this is so sad - but why so many wish to prevent honouring our Goddess is even sadder.

Dont be afraid of freedom - do not confuse religion with spirituality - do not think that the Oppressive Deicrats have your best interest in their fore brains. Ask your selves - why is the word fascism never mentioned in our written and visual media? Why are there so many legal and political bad judgements? Why is our cultural identity being eroded?

If you believe in the tv - then my sharings cannot convince you of anything - but the world is nearly round - the sun is really the centre of our solar system - and Opus Dei was and is a fascist ideological cult who is / are commanded by the current pope who was the front man for the modern equivelent of the unholy aquisition. Do your own research.

Chamberlin said "peace in our own time" but he was and is an total british empire asshole allowing destruction of others while seeking to protect his voters. He was wrong. His (I cant see it) attitude cause huge suffering for millions.

You have a choice - believe the spin or listen to your heart (if you know how) and connect with your feelings instead of your thinkings .....

I know that there is very limited censorship on indymedia but sometimes I wish that the editiors could at least erasre the more stupid submissions that seek to confuse true freedom of expression.

The truth exists, the world is roundish, the reality is that Opus Dei do actually have a E10 million euro (2000CE) institute in the sacred valley of the Royal City of Tara. They only have 800 members (who are secret) and they do have an agenda that you must research deeply to find.

The ancient horse goddess, Edain Echraidhe has returned to defend the sacred valley in the Royal City of Tara - let the workers of the god of fear escape into the Light.

Maybe its time to wake up....

Sometimes the most obvious answer is the right one.

Opus Dei are not some kind of super secret society intent on ruling the world or bringing about the apocalypse. They are simply misguided people who believe in something that has no bearing in reality...much like yourself Con. Remember that anything in this world can be linked to anything else if you really want to believe it.

Two weeks ago, for about 4 days, Joe Duffy has hosted people expressing their views and more importantly their fears about a gathering of like minded Catholics on Achill Island. Note this is not linked in any way to Opus Dei but it is interesting to make connections about charitable foundations that are formed and embalmed in a secrecy code......to the gain of some, and possibly to the detriment of others.

What is known about this alleged House of Prayer in Achill? I am afraid to write the name because if RTE has to 'cut' well then a mere Indymedia writer must pay heed.......Media and the Law involves huge payouts - we need only recall the Beverly Flynn cost to RTE, recently settled.

What is known and published is that 'it lost its charitable status two years ago? What does this mean? If you qualify for a charitable status, does this mean that no tax submissions have to be made or more importantly does this mean, no tax has to be paid on earnings. One thing that can be concluded is that payments made or gifted or willed or most likely to be of the cash variety.......and it is very difficult to work out the tax to paid.

What we do know is that on the 13th May 1998, for some reason/reasons, the Sunday masses that used to be carried out on Achill Island were cancelled and the parishioners were asked to return to local parish Church. This was the decision of the Archbishop of Tuam......This was denied but as they say 'the pen can be mightier the sword'.

Then we have had the expose in the Sunday World.......their independent researchers, for some unknown reason, decided there was a story.......todays paper follow's on.

The article and an impressive photo of a modern day mansion house in the affluent Malahide, Dublin, is shown. The woman, named, is said to reside here while in Dublin. Then there is a snapshot of the Mayo home, again affluent to put it mildly.

Pilgrims attend, links exist with the US, beliefs are held but the Catholic Church and many of the public have praised the Sunday World for their exposure of the alleged wealthy lifestyle of a holy woman.

Why can't the Archbishop of Tuam, Dr. Neary come forward and make a statement to clarify things. He has a moral duty surely given the moral bankruptcy of the Irish people at present, and the exposure of the vulnerable to the manipulations of others who may even have the compliance of Charity tax regulations.

I lived in London in the late 1970's in the home of my cousin, his wife and family, he was a Judge of the High Court and gave the ruling on Moonies case. This received widespread coverage at the time and his Judgment was much influenced by the power Cults have on vulnerable people.

I wholly endorse the decision he made at that time and as a person with Acquired Brain Injury and being bipolar I cannot be too strong on point of vulnerability. It is not a nice place to be and it makes the world a most hostile place unless people care. My partner has been exceptional in helping me to walk the necessary straight line, the truth is he sure sorted out the wood from the chaff, that illness placed at my door. His own nephew, was involved in a car accident abroad and has similar injuries to me, but his family are there and he too will manage what life provides.

What a weird little Island Ireland has turned out to be? We look to the Church for direction? We look to the Government for leadership? We look to the Revenue to ensure people pay their fair amount of tax (the exception being the wealthy tax exiles given no tax status, but the right to operate in Ireland for a certain number of days. Our Revenue have sure increased their ardour these days with extra powers to the CAB re. criminality and illegal drugs, to issuing a summons to the Armagh Mr. Slab Murphy for failure to submit 7? tax returns. His case is in the Central Criminal Court in Dublin i.e. Green Street - maybe this may be a little excessive!!

The Revenue appear to have slipped up on An Taoiseach Tax Clearance Certs and this is now creating a farsical situation in the Dail...........nobody knows really what the Truth is.

Perhaps we all need to become pilgrims for the day i.e. provided we are not being ripped off those who promise us God....and Our Lady.......

Scrutiny is needed and transparency. Maybe somebody can let me know if you have Charitable Status and you hold profits ....... can you earn income on these? Who determines salaries? What powers exist through clicks of secrecy?

I close my saying that Glenstal Abbey - a most beautiful place in Limerick for solitude and prayer ran by monks, similar in ways to their humble colleagues in Mount Mellary (i.e. apart from the Icons...). The question is - Jesus was turned away from the Inn and went to a stable in Bethlehem. The moral equation is that Glenstal Abbey is a four star hotel for the Opus Dei, Catholic clientele. When you phone and then finally arrive - the first question I believe is - how are you paying Credit Card or Cash? Sad but true.

Go to Mount Mellary in need, as I did, you arrive in, you are made feel welcome - you attend prayers that suit you. You are well minded and listened to, during your stay. When you are leaving, you only give what you can afford anonymously. This is moral respect surely.

Thankfully the Franciscan monks have moved to Moyross and Southill in Limerick - this means we must have heart.....inspite of years that the wealth of some has caused such poverty and crime to others.

I will close by saying that tomorrow in the High Court, sadly I hope not, retired Cardinal Desmond Connell flaws many as with many a human being but also a brilliant Theologian and a man of humanely secretive pride is trying to stall the files being put forward by the Archbishop Diarmuid Martin, a man I don't fully understand. Let us hope there is not split in the Catholic Church and common sense prevails.

I endorse the view of the last poster that the Bishop of Tuam needs to speak out about the Achill House of Prayer and give solid guidance to people in the diocese and elsewhere who are interested in the Achill phenomenon. If people are looking for spiritual experiences they can find inspiration elsewhere, in places which have proven themselves through verified supernatural healings. I won't mention any of these places, as they have been visited by millions of pilgrims, some for longer than a century.

In addition to these places I can mention the annual "Reek climb" of Croagh Patrick on the last Sunday of July each year. About thirty thousand did the climb in 2007. That event gives people of all ages a spiritual "high" literally and figuratively.

I think the reason the Bishop banned the public celebration of masses at the House of Prayer some years ago was that they were affecting attendances at the normal masses in the parish church and the Bishop felt that the normal functioning of the parish liturgy needed to be protected.

In general I would say that site specific religious enthusiasm and money making go uncomfortably together. Rather like camels and the eyes of needles.

With reference to media exposures about religion and wealthy living I am sceptical, since many journalists themselves live in Dublin 2, 4, 6, 8 and other affluent suburbs. Their personal lifestyles are by no means frugal, peasant or proletarian. The pages of the newspapers they write for continually glamourise wealth, conspicuous consumption, lavish wedding bashes by celebrities and fantastic holidays in distant sunshine resorts. If a prominent journalist decides to live in a two-up and two-down semi in Finglas or Kilbarrack and wear clothes bought from a charity shop and drive to work daily in a seven-year-old 1400cc engined car, maybe then I'll read his preachings about religion and wealthy living with less scepticism.

"since many journalists themselves live in Dublin 2, 4, 6, 8 and other affluent suburbs" do you have a source for this information.

I can tell you that journalists i know (who write for national newspapers live in dublin 1,3,9 24 and a few live in suburbs in meath. Of course a handful of named pundits live in nice areas but these are the same journmos who have been in the business for 30 years.any journalist who has bought a house in the last 7 years does not live in D4

No I don't agree with you. What is important is the quality and awareness that is imparted by what they write.

I agree with the posting about the many places out there, one can retreat to in a time of need, where there can be one with nature, and spiritual sanctity.

In our youth, we should be encouraged to seek out these havens (in my case it is Tara, and later on Glendalough). There needs to be no ritual, on an enveloping sense of Peace....

Like Yeats ' when peace comes dropping still'

Listening to Joe Duffy today and yesterday saddens me greatly. Ironically without really understanding in 1983 I went on my Honeymoon to Thailand. I formed judgments there and then that stand with me to this day. People were traded as a commodity for their vanity of a tourist market......The young men would openly trying and attract you commenting on how they were gathering money to become a woman, and then their bodies would be worth more money.

We travelled to Pattaya and the US Military boats were in dock........we two young Irish people saw before us, a world we could have never envisaged......and worst of all I recall two young girls no more than 7 and 8 being used as entertainment for two non white travellers.....it was sexual. Do we need this? Is this something that ought to be ignored. Personally, I have no time for the like of the Gary Glitters, who appear one way in their home place and then consciously plan to go to third world countries and trade in people......it is slavery and it is morally wrong. Hiv is a sad cost, as I saw when I lived in Zimbabwe in the 1990's. Wake up people. Don't form right wing enclaves and retreat to hours of prayers and pay money. There is more to be done.

Again I ask the question about Cardinal Connell. I know it concerns opening up files to the Commission but thread carefully......files are about real people.......if people access their files.....where does it go from there and how is it used.........Manipulation is the game that destroys many lives today...........At least it is in the hands of the Judiciary to make the decision.....perhaps this is most appropriate.

Remember.......what about the boys? And also what about the long term effects for those who were abused. What is being learnt about abuse?

It is a shame that priest and their masters do not tell the truth
it is a shame when journos' are not allowed to present the truth
it is a shame that our politicians mostly lie and avoid the truth
it is a shame that the corrupt ones own the land in Tara Valley.

But shame dont count no more for the greedy. Only money counts.

Big money has big secrecy, Opus Dei is in Tara Valley - WHY???

Why has the TV, radio and newpapers avoided the E10m HQ for Opus Dei in Tara Valley???
The Henge is only 200mt from Opus Dei, the complete dog skeleton was found only 300 mt from Opus Dei
During excavations for the forced M3 double toll road through the valley of the Celtic Royal City of Tara the bones of a ‘medium-sized dog’ were found near the Henge at Lismullin. I do not believe it to be a dog for two reasons - I believe it is Primate, most likely a Barbary Ape details at http://www.druidschool.com/site/1030100/page/937849

Why did the NRA archaeologists working under Meath Co Co disapear the 'dog' so quickly???
Was it actually a primate or ape??? Is there no shame???

Greed rules and money says for how long.

Governance is the technique of people disempowerment - bad Bertie is the master.

Was this apelike dog found near the Opus Dei institution at Lismullin a vital link in the chain of evolution? Could it have clinched Darwin's theory and exploded the Genesis story? Has there been a cover up, like in The Da Vinci Code? Is any Irish writer contemplating a bestselling thriller about it? It could begin with the discovery of a stabbed body on the floor of the National Gallery.

How has the media ignored their presence in Tara Valley???
When will the Pope visit his new embassy in Tara Valley???

The ape remains are a sign that high prestige gifts were given and finally buried in a very important ritual royal location today called Lismullin in Tara Valley.

If this is a ritually buried dog from the 8-10th century it raises more questions than if it were coeval with the henge.

It's obviously not a fake put there to be discovered and make headlines, unlike the notorious Piltdown scandal almost a century ago.

To me the photo looks like the remains of a Geep - a cross between a goat and a sheep. Maybe the ancient celts were experimenting with animal cross breeding.

Opus Dei are in Lismullin because they acquired a piece of real estate within driving distance of Dublin where retreats and courses could be held. Why not phone them up and ask how they got there and the name of the real estate agent who handled the sale?

sure they were top of the heap up in Tara, & that's something you forget - kings & queens, rís & ard-rís and tuatha's the lot of them. No wonder they buried their doggies ritualistically. The queen of England does the same for any one of her corgi dogs.

But how did they, the residents of Tara treat their working class?
Were all the Brehon provisions for health care & cancer screening nothing more than a bit of epic bullshit?

Con

I agree Opus Dei are in the Tara Gabran Valley. They bought into an area that had a history going back centuries. They have financially benefited from such a location as have the Columban Fathers.

When discussed at Senate level by Senator William Butler Yeats, it was granted the status of a National Monument. What happened in the intervening decades - is highly questionable.

The East has little to offer in terms of tourism so why should Meath turn its back on its history, heritage and culture, because people migrated to the towns and now want motorways based on plans, which more than likely stench with corrupt practices.

We need only look to the support of the worldwide academics who have spoken out, to the EU, and so many other organisations.

What are people afraid of. I doubt if Govt would sanction the Phoenix Park being converted to a car park. The Phoenix Park is history but not as old and ancient as Tara. It was at Tara, the High Kings assembled. It is Tara that the local landlords honoured by not destroying its heritage. Of course, Lord Dunsany, and Lord Fingal were men of education with an knowledge of archaelogy and history.

1910 Tara aroused deep interests from people like Douglas Hyde, First President of Ireland, Maud Gonne, Arthur Griffith, William Butler Years........this was a time of exploration in Egypt and of the great findings. The Arc of the Covenant was believed to have been at Tara so Tara had an identity then...........

Con.....I agree. Shame to all............what a vacuum in the culture of Meath (the Pale) this motorway will create. The people appear to be mice unlike those in the West of Ireland who embraced their history and culture.

50 Gardai deployed.....contractors champing at the bite.

Squeek, a psyhologist with nerve supported by other enthusiasts.

These people follow our forefathers who saw beyond in Tara.....Daniel O'Connell spoke from the Hill of Tara as it is said the High Kings of Tara convened.

I note a comment by Con.....where there was a meeting at Lismullin Centre, but their beckoning was to the bureaucracy and its corrupt practices, so they complied and did not bring up the topic of the road....to the people who convened. Why? Like Dalgan Park, Lismullin is a long term member of the Gabran community (in line with their religious obligations).

I hope this Easter....2008 will awaken in people a sense of reverence to the past, to history, to culture and an ability of those to see beyond their financial gain and into the beauty, sanctity, and hidden philosophy of Tara. It ought to be Tara than an anonymous ground in Achill that should have gained support, particularly the Church.

The words of Conor Cruise O'Brien and Maire O'Brien (dated 1972). Worth looking at in a local library.
An aerial photograph......the Church and houses I remember as a child......some of the old cottages around faded over the years back to the landscape, their people dead and gone.

'The Hill of Tara, Co. Meath, seat of half-legendary kings and a centre of superstitious awe, traditionally associated with the 'High Kingship', it was an important burial site, in pre historic times.

I would ask the Church, Lismullin Opus Dei, St. Columbans - why the distance? Pagan after all is the origin of all religion!
