Are people who eat organic food really as virtuous as they think? A new academic paper has found that, in fact, they score higher on the 'dark triad' traits of narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy.

Michael O'Riordain

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Thursday May 18, 2006 12:54author by Dermot Lacey - Labour Report this post to the editors

I have just heard the sad news of the death of Michael O'Riordain.

I have just heard the sad news of the death of Michael O'Riordain. Whatever about the various differences on the Left Michael was a towering presence, a man oif immense Political and Personal courage. Very early in my time as a Dublin City Councillor I got agreement that the Council would hold a formal Civic Reception for the surviving members of the Interntaional Brigade to make up for the disgraceful way the City treated them when they returned form Spain in contrast with the heroes reception afforded to the Blueshirts.
and Fascists.

Michaels speech on that occasion was a model. He was a man I hugely liked and admired. His likes will seldom be seen again.
