Members of the Labour Party protested outside Beaumount Hospital on Saturday at the appaling conditions in the A and E department where patients are left on trolleys in corridoors due to a lack of fudning from governme. Beaumount is one of the busiest hospitals in the country. Yet, its A&E Department suffers serious overcrowding, with patients often having to wait hours for treatment and then find themselves being treated on hospital trolleys. The Irish Nurses Organisation have been conducting their own ‘Enough is Enough’ campaign at such conditions and the Labour Party protest was in solidarity solidarity with staff and patients who have to suffer such an intolerable situation.

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3It's a Saturday. Why is everyone wearing suits and ties?
Good that you had the protest - ties or no . If there had been some publicity you might have got more people along . Maybe you did post info on the events page and I didn't see it ,in which case ,apologies.
Good to see any demo taking place to protest the state of the Health Service
This one seems to have been an internal Labour Party operation- those in the photo include a Senator, a TD, a few local election candidates and their leafleteers.
It was not publicised locally and all the posters were from the Labour Party.
Many people in the area would be interested in supporting an inclusive approach to highlighting the A&E crisis in the area..
The picket, to this cynical eye, was a tad opportunistic- the photos to be used in local leaflet drops in the area to show that Labour is in touch.
