Thought this was a nice picture to post up. This is 2 of the Rossport 5, Micheal O'Seighin (whistle) and Vincent McGrath (accordian) enjoying themselves at Niall Harnett's 21st birthday bash. That is fantastic about the Rossport 5. Agree with the above comment that IRA decomissioning was obviously much more significant but the Rossport 5 was some phenomenon this year, as indeed was Mr. Eddie Hobbs.
Of course the Rossport situation is far from over, and we must all be ready to take up the cause again if needs be - in even greater force this time.
Power to the People.
Personally I would have seen IRA decommissioning as the most significant event to happen this year. It was a huge and momentous decision taken by the army. It has transformed the political situation in the island of Ireland significantly.
However fair play to the Rossport 5 for their perseverance and dedication in standing up to Shell.
