Civic Forum on Climate Change

Climate Change Ireland is a Green Party initiative which aims to tackle climate change through civil and political action. In Ireland significant change is required to address our National, European and Global commitments.

Climate Change Ireland is hosting a Civic Forum on Climate Change in the Round Room, Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin 2 at 8pm, Monday 5th December 2005

The Forum will addressed by scientific, civic, economic and political leaders and have a live link to United Nations Climate Change Conference in Montreal, Canada.

The Forum will chaired by Chair: Olivia O’ Leary



Speakers who will address the Forum include:
Mary Kelly - Environmental Protection Agency, John Sweeney - National University of Ireland Maynooth

Jim Devin – Irish Farmers’ Association, Daniel McCoy - Irish Business and Employers Federation

Eddie O’Connor – Airtricity, Gerry McGaughey – Century Homes

John Henry - Dublin Transportation Office, Henk Van Der Kamp -Dublin Institute of Technology

Political Party representatives

Music from Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh of Altan

Doors open 7.30pm, free admission

The Green Party has initiated a Climate Change Targets Bill which seeks to establish cross-party agreement on future Greenhouse Gas emissions reductions targets and means of achieving these targets.The Bill will be before the Dáil on the 29th and 30th of November and will be voted on at 8.30 pm on Wednesday the 30th of November.
