What we have seen in Starmer since July is a petty, inhumane, almost spiteful man who considers himself morally superior to the mass of humanity. This, says Dr David McGrogan, was confirmed in spades yesterday.

Establishment of local / national committees of the Stop the Extraditon of Sean Garland Campaign.

Establishment of local / national committees of the Stop the Extraditon of Sean Garland Campaign.

A major meeting was held in Dublin on October 27th to build the growing level of opposition against the US Extradition demand for Sean Garland into an active / strong campaign around the country and internationally. The Workers' Party Central Executive Committee / Ard Chomhairle is travelling around Ireland meeting individuals from inside and outside the party with a view to establishing local campaign groups. A list of contacts for these groups is available on the Contacts page of this website.

In addition to this initiative the campaign is continuing to leaflet town and city centres and a National Petition is now being taken up to give the public an opportunity to express their opposition to any attempt to extradite Sean Garland to the United States.

The campaign has printed a large number of posters which will be placed in major centres. In addition it has contacted all members of the Oireachtas (Irish Parliament) along with all British Labour Party MPs and a number of Liberal Democrat MPs who have expressed interest. We have also circulated information on the case of Sean Garland to the Irish Council of Civil Liberties, Amnest International, Liberty, the Irish Human Rights Commission and its counterpart in Northern Ireland, and numerous other organisations concerned with human rights along with groups and individuals involved in the arts, media, culture and a broad section of public life in Ireland, north and south.

And you believe what you read in these newspapers?

Yes, the Irish government did refuse those extradition request which explains why the Yanks have served the extradition demand to the British government and Garland was arrested in Belfast.

"Following an application to Belfast County Court last Friday (28th October) Sean Garland has been allowed to travel to a Dublin hospital for medical treatment. As part of the variation of his bail conditions he must return to Northern Ireland on his discharge from hospital. "

I wonder if he will ever return to the North? Stay here Sean, you wont be extradited. But you might be charged with directing terrorism. Thats the charge they sent McKevitt down for.

"Medical help for ex-IRA chief

THE president of the Workers Party, who was arrested in Belfast last month, has been allowed to leave Northern Ireland so he can receive medical treatment in the Republic.

Sean Garland (71), a former leader of the Official IRA, was released on bail at Belfast County Court last month pending his possible extradition to the US on currency counterfeiting charges. "

So the Irish Independent says a little more. But what makes them think that Sean Garland is a former leader of the Official IRA? When is he supposed to have stepped down as Chief of Staff?

The Sunday Independent has been rather soft on Sean Garland as well. Maybe Sean Garland has some hold over Eoghan Harris. Could it be that Eoghan Harris was once a member of Group B?

'Court documents released in Washington last week show that US spy planes were specifically targeting Garland on trips to China and North Korea, monitoring his Irish 087 Vodafone calls to Madame Cao Xiaobing among others in 2001, an operation which could not have succeeded without co- operation from Dublin. '

This is from Phoenix magazine. If Sean Garland is such an innocent man then why were the US allocating so much resources to monitor him? What exactly was Sean Garland discussing with Madame Cao?

If the supporters of Sean Garland answered these questions then we would all be in a better position to decide whether or not to support this campaign.

If you explained why the US has spyplanes we might be interested in listening to you.

I think they use the spy planes to listren in on business discussions between Sean Garland and Madam Cao. But what were they discussing? The importation of goods made by slave labour in Cinese prison camps?
