 Ex fitted up anarchist talks about ‘Resisting the Prison State’ Mark Barnsley has been consciously active as an anarchist since the late seventies. In that time he has been involved in everything from anti-nuclear protest, militant anti-fascism, producing anarchist publications and in prisoner support. But it’s actually as an anarchist prisoner that Mark is probably best known. In 1994, while out with his partner and child, he was attacked by 15 drunken, middle-class thugs who were armed with bottles, drinking glasses and a knife. He tried to defend himself and ended up being convicted and sent to jail for 8 years. |

What you have got to understand here is that the State does not like anarchism and feel very threatened by it. And so whenever the chance passes their way, the state uses the opportunity to lock them up.
They do this to intimidate others from getting involved in anarchism. Since the State is all about running society on behalf of the wealthy few who it serves, whilst anarchism is all about running society by the people for the people, they have to suppress it and it's supporters whenever it can.
Yes, incredible it may seem alright, but isn't it incredible the way that capitalist leaders like Bush and Blair can talk about justice when they themselves are responsible for the deaths of 100,000+ and the horrific injuries to I would expect many more.
