This morning a joint operation between the Gardaí and customs types saw 1.5 tonnes of fireworks seized en route to Dublin.

It has of course been only a few months since Michael Mc Dowell, suggested a new law "possession of a firework with intent to supply" and asked for public (your) input.

There are obviously consumer, parental, judicial, employment, economic and heritage issues at play here.

Who determines the pricing?
Is there any tax paid on the 2 for a Euro sparkler?
If the kids had free books would they need to learn the wicked ways of retail on the cold streets of Dublin in the lead-up to Halloween?

Advice needs to be given.

Don't fret kids, and parents, and young at heart.
You can thanks to the internet and commonly avaiiable chemicals make your own fireworks.
Remember to make sure no independent observers or members of the press corp commerical, stateserving or independent types are standing too close to your home-made low-grade explosive when you blow something up.
