The piper above is Eamonn Walsh who over the years has done immense but mostly unsung work through his music for peace and cross-community relations.
Typically, when he heard of the vigil on RTE he set to work to make contact and offer his services.

Looks great guys, well done , fantastic job, a lotta thought and work. Sure would be nice to do it again. Love the banners and the 'gravestones'. Nice to see William there from 'Village'. Irish Times got it wrong, shallow or wha?! Rock on, Niall.

It looks like it was done very well.
A lot better than some phoney speech by Bertie Bush or Blair that would only remember some of the dead.

You could not possibly let people down. It is I and all of us who have left you down by not doing more to stop this crazy war. I will pray for the soul of your son and for God to grant you strenght during these awful times. So too will I pray for the success of you campaign to get Blair into court for the war crimes that he has purpotrated. I will try and write to you as well.

My warmest regards and best wishes to you.

Michael.

A huge well done to all those involved. The banners and particularly the candle display looked amazing. It would be great if this could be held every weekend. Maybe somewhere on the south side of the city as well. Were ye encouraging people to go down to Shannon for the 24th. Were there leaftlets handed out? Well done again.

Conversations were started, moments were shared among the candles, as people from many different backgrounds and countries stopped to talk. Some took the time to light their own candle for their own intentions. For a short while it felt like there was a little bit of magic in the centre of Dublin.
