The heart of Galway still beats powerfully for the Rossport Five.

It will come , it will come, the time we are enamoured of !

'N what evidence, I hear you say to strut such a hyperbolic assertion?
monday2.jpg

- fuck all, except the presence of the young Finnish woman, ************* (name redacted at req. of named individual-ED) from Leppavirta at the Shell to Sea info/petition stall at Lynch's castle, yesterday, who hearing of the plight of the Rossport Five, camping out, cycled all the way, alone, from Dublin for the duration of three days to Galway and who is determined to cycle to the Rossport camp to bear witness - a bit like the Duke of Wellington opining on his troops before Waterloo; can't speak for their effect on the French, but, fuck it, they surely frighten the hell out of me, or words to that effect, so, pristine Mari, you've surely impressed the cyncism out of the heart of me.

If that's not sufficient, what about the case, again, yesterday, of the couple who signed our petition and who stayed for 15 minutes or so at our stall to discourse knowledageably on the Erris situation, the woman from Germany, the bloke from Austria who hitch-hiking from Cliften, got a lift from an Italian motorist who fully appraised them of the plight of the Rossport Five.

For Christ's sake, may it come, may it come soon, the time we are enamoured of, when the Rossport Five are released with justice, when Shell is an obscene memory and when all wines flow, all hearts meet.

In flagrente, the Galway City Council employee, God bless 'im, who stopped his garbage collection truck so as to sign our petition.

With a lacuna on Friday, same as last week, Galway Shell to Sea activists were out again today venting their outrage against the jailing of the R5, same as today, we'll be out again tomorrow and Wednesday and and and ....
