It is probably not widly known that since the 1970's SHELL have been involved in the nuclier business via "Billington Metals" .As far as we know Billington is a UK registered company. SHELL also "cashed in" on alternative energy ,manufacturing and selling "cookers" in Asia (India?) and Africa. This information dates from the late 1970's but as far as we know is still valid.

for info on SHELL in Columbia.
An exerpt is :
"Although its production is relatively recent shows a noticeable exporting dynamism.
The most important deposit is the one of Cerromatoso. It is located to the south of the Department, is an isolated hill of 200 meters of height that excels clearly its unevenness of the River San Jorge. Oil Shell was discovered in 1940 by companla and in 1979, to initiate the operation stage, IFI Conicol SA y Billington Overseas Ltda. Of the group Shell constituted the Company Cerromatoso SA, with a distribution of actions of 45%, 20% and 35% respectively. At the moment, she is one of the ten greater companies of Colombia, the third mining company after ECOPETROL and Hillock, and the only nickel producer in the country."

Best regards, dja.
