Dont mention from the bible the books Book of Kings wich talks about killing, raping, looting of non-believers or the book of leviticus which allows for stoning, slavery, whipping etc.
Just in case christianity looks a bit unpalatable.
OOPS

Too complicated for you?
What if Jesus was living today? Bush: "Jesus is a Pinko Commie Fag Liberal Terrorist Sympathzier."
St. Peter Deciding What to do With George
While walking down the street one day, George "Dubya" Bush is shot by a disgruntled NRA member.
His soul arrives in heaven and he is met by St. Peter at the Pearly gates. "Welcome to Heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem: We seldom see a Republican around these parts, so we're not sure what to do with you."
"No problem, just let me in; I'm a believer." says Dubya.
"I'd like to just let you in, but I have orders from the Man Himself: He says you have to spend one day in Hell and one day in Heaven. Then you must choose where you'll live for eternity."
"But, I've already made up my mind; I want to be in Heaven."
"I'm sorry, but we have our rules." And with that, St. Peter escorts him to an elevator and he goes down, down, down, all the way to Hell.
The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a lush golf course; the sun is shining in a cloudless sky, the temperature a perfect 72 degrees. In the distance is a beautiful clubhouse. Standing in front of it his dad and thousands of other Republicans who had helped him out over the years. Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, Jerry Falwell the whole of the "Right" was there everyone laughing happy casually but expensively dressed. They run to greet him, hug him, and reminisce about the good times they had getting rich at expense of the "suckers and peasants". They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster and caviar.
The Devil himself comes up to Bush with a frosty drink, "Have a Margarita and relax, Dubya!"
"Uh, I can't drink no more, I took a pledge," says Junior, dejectedly.
This is Hell, son: you can drink and eat all you want and not worry, and it just gets better from there!"
Dubya takes the drink and finds himself liking the Devil, whom he thinks is a really very friendly guy who tells funny jokes and pulls hilarious nasty pranks kind of like a Yale Skull and Bones brother with real horns. They are having such a great time that, before he realizes it, it's time to go. Everyone gives him a big hug and waves as Bush steps on the elevator and heads upward.
When the elevator door reopens, he is in Heaven again and St. Peter is waiting for him. "Now it's time to visit Heaven," the old man says, opening the gate. So for 24 hours Bush is made to hang out with a bunch of honest, good-natured people who enjoy each other's company, talk about things other than money, and treat each other decently. Not a nasty prank or frat boy joke among them; no fancy country clubs and, while the food tastes great; it's not caviar or lobster. And these people are all poor, he doesn't see anybody he knows, and he isn't even treated like someone special! Worst of all, to Dubya, Jesus turns out to be some kind of Jewish hippie with his endless 'peace' and 'do unto others' jive.
"Whoa," he says uncomfortably to himself, "Pat Robertson never prepared me for this!"
The day done, St. Peter returns and says, "Well, then, you've spent a day in Hell and a day in Heaven. Now choose where you want to live for eternity."
With the 'Jeopardy' theme playing softly in the background, Dubya reflects for a minute, then answers: "Well, I would never have thought I'd say this -- I mean, Heaven has been delightful and all -- but I really think I belong in Hell with my friends."
So Saint Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down, all the way to Hell. The doors of the elevator open and he is in the middle of a barren scorched earth covered with garbage and toxic industrial waste kind of like Houston. He is horrified to see all of his friends, dressed in rags and chained together, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags. They are groaning and moaning in pain, faces and hands black with grime.
The Devil comes over to Dubya and puts an arm around his shoulder. "I don't understand," stammers a shocked Dubya, "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and a clubhouse and we ate lobster and caviar drank booze. We screwed around and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and everybody looks miserable!"
The Devil looks at him, smiles slyly, and purrs, "Yesterday we were campaigning; today you voted for us."
I thought i'd tell ye about it, coz its going to get spun by late time news into what so many of you really want to happen. & I want to warn ye that it is not, repeat, not what so many of you want to happen, and like don't even go there, there has been neither number hinted at, nor date alluded to.
The US has signalled it will withdraw large number of troops from Iraq as Rumsfeld went there today and the Interim government said they had to go a.s.a.p.
A protestant church in backwoods America has a controversial sign out front! Hold the front page!
Christian countries are far more tolerant of the Islamic religion than Islamic countries are of the Christian religion. In addition, Christian countries are far more advanced socially and far more economically successful than Islamic countries. As a result, over the past decade tens of millions of people have fled Islamic countries in search of a new life of prosperity and freedom in Christian countries. There is no similar movement the other way. The grovelling of the Left to Islamic fundamentalists in the West is pathetic. It derives from the fact that the Left, hopelessly incapable as ever of making inroads in terms of votes among the mainstream population, seeks to exploit the grievances, real or imagined, of minority groups. But, it will never work. The more they suck up to Islamic fundamentalists, the more their vote will decine among the much larger non-Islamic section of the population.

Religions such as Christianity are cults which brainwash their members by giving them supernatural answers to questions they cant answer for themselves.

More Christian tolerance, this time towards fiendish Taigs:http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/False%20Religions/Roman%20Catholicism/satanism_in_the_vatican.htm
Always nice to hear from you. Regarding your point on Islam, yes, while Saudi Arabia and Iran are disgustenly intolerant, you should remember that Syria is the last place in the world where a minorety of Christians still speak Aramaic, the language spoken by Christ, and, despite it's other faults, the Syrian dictatorship actively encourages tourism to their Christian churches, and people because of this and other historical reasons.
In Morocco, Marrakesh has a Jewish mayor, Tunisia holds a famous synagougue regularly visted by Jewish pilgrims. Egypt has a great number of Copts. Yes, these people have, along with other minoreties, suffred harrasment from Mubaraks dictatorship, but this appears to bre political rather than sectarian. Generally, the Christian Copts have been free to worship in peace and Alexandria has many old and ancient churches.
Saddam's Iraq has a long history of Christian communities; Chaldeans, and others were actually favoured by Saddam's Baathist regime.
My point is, while fault lines certainly exist between Christian and Muslim, there are many many Islamic countries that leave their Christian communities in peace, and, as mentioned above, actively encourage their growth.
So don't write off all the Muslims.

I thought there was a certain poster here, N***, banned was it not for p;osting racist incitful and offensive comments?
not so hard to do eh? and be more specific. This place is busy with few volunteers.
Islam is evil and does believe in murder. Mohammed was a terrorist, mass murderer, rapist and paedophile.
No muslim disagrees with the accounts in the Koran that state for example
a) Mohammed slept with and married a nine-year old girl. He had thirty wives (but said everyone else could only have four)
b) ordered the slaughter of the men of an entire tribe of defenceless Jews
c) had the women and children made slaves
d) raped the wives of some of the men he had had murdered on the night they were killed
e) ordered the brutal murder of a woman poet who criticised him.
f) made his living by plundering peaceful trade caravans
These are just a few of the evil things the man did. He was undoubtedly a religious psycho. This is why Islam is the ultimate terrorist religion. However, to call it a religion is wrong: it does not have the depth of a religion. Just because 1.1billion people have fallen under its sway, that still does not stop it being just a death cult.
But muslims don't want you to know any of that. They will witter on about your having the wrong interpretation of the Koran and if you really insist will try and kill you for 'insulting Allah and the Prophet'.
Not many people also know that Islam (which just means 'submission' ie enslavement) also does not believe in tolerance of other religions. It is spread by the sword (this is the concept of jihad, among other things) and the penalty for leaving Islam is death.
This is why it creates so many terrorists. Not only this but Europe has had a problem with Islam for centuries and the muslims would have overrun Europe in the Middle Ages had they not been stopped by a French catholic warrior king called Charles Martel.
Finally, all this stuff about Islam being traditionally tolerant to Jews and Christians is total hogwash. There has been plenty of Jew murders in the Islamic world over the centures - plenty and in any case, Jews and Christians were only ever tolerated if they acknowledged their dhimmi status to muslims, which was totally inferior and involved all kinds of awful humiliations. Don't get me started on the treatment of women, either...
As there has been a historic statement from the IRA which defined their position on the cause of the conflict in Ireland.
Not one commentator has said that their war was because of their religon, no-one is asking Protestants to examine or change their religous beliefs in context of the aparthied state that existed in the six counties.
Anti-islamic rhethoric is bogus, one could argue that the jewish concept of a chosen people justifies exterminating all non-Jews or that accepting Jesus as the son of God means that all non-christians are pagans and so must be converted or exterminated.
This is not about who's beliefs / faiths are wrong or right..this arguement goes round and round with out a solution.
I
This is not mere rhetoric, my friend. This is what muslims believe and practice. People in the West had better wake up and smell the coffee. It is your countries they want to destroy.
Shame we can't ask the opinion of someone like Daniel Pearl whose head chopped off by an Islamic religious maniac in Pakistan just because he was an American and a Jew.
Theo Van Gogh or Pim Fortuyn or Aya Hirsi Ali or Salman Rushdie...Just ask them what they think of 'tolerant' Islam, if you could...
I am from a catholic background.
So what are your religous views.
Be honest avi..cos you're ranting like a religous intolerant who would execute arabs and muslims because of their beliefs
...which in my book is as unjustified as a 5th century muslim state imposed by the taleban.
In the west we know what religous bigotory and narrow minded funamentalism can bring about..has isreal realised this yet ?
Of course, Avi, certain other religious texts are the very model of sexual morality, tolerance, peace, love & genocide.
(Numbers 31:7-18 NLT)
They attacked Midian just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed all the men. All five of the Midianite kings – Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba – died in the battle. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword. Then the Israelite army captured the Midianite women and children and seized their cattle and flocks and all their wealth as plunder. They burned all the towns and villages where the Midianites had lived. After they had gathered the plunder and captives, both people and animals, they brought them all to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the whole community of Israel, which was camped on the plains of Moab beside the Jordan River, across from Jericho.
Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the people went to meet them outside the camp. But Moses was furious with all the military commanders who had returned from the battle. "Why have you let all the women live?" he demanded. "These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people. Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves.
(Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)
Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him."
(Joshua 8:1-29 NLT)
Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid or discouraged. Take the entire army and attack Ai, for I have given to you the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land. You will destroy them as you destroyed Jericho and its king. But this time you may keep the captured goods and the cattle for yourselves. Set an ambush behind the city." So Joshua and the army of Israel set out to attack Ai. Joshua chose thirty thousand fighting men and sent them out at night with these orders: "Hide in ambush close behind the city and be ready for action. When our main army attacks, the men of Ai will come out to fight as they did before, and we will run away from them. We will let them chase us until they have all left the city. For they will say, 'The Israelites are running away from us as they did before.' Then you will jump up from your ambush and take possession of the city, for the LORD your God will give it to you. Set the city on fire, as the LORD has commanded. You have your orders." So they left that night and lay in ambush between Bethel and the west side of Ai. But Joshua remained among the people in the camp that night.
Early the next morning Joshua roused his men and started toward Ai, accompanied by the leaders of Israel. They camped on the north side of Ai, with a valley between them and the city. That night Joshua sent five thousand men to lie in ambush between Bethel and Ai, on the west side of the city. So they stationed the main army north of the city and the ambush west of the city. Joshua himself spent that night in the valley. When the king of Ai saw the Israelites across the valley, he and all his army hurriedly went out early the next morning and attacked the Israelites at a place overlooking the Jordan Valley. But he didn't realize there was an ambush behind the city. Joshua and the Israelite army fled toward the wilderness as though they were badly beaten, and all the men in the city were called out to chase after them. In this way, they were lured away from the city. There was not a man left in Ai or Bethel who did not chase after the Israelites, and the city was left wide open.
Then the LORD said to Joshua, "Point your spear toward Ai, for I will give you the city." Joshua did as he was commanded. As soon as Joshua gave the signal, the men in ambush jumped up and poured into the city. They quickly captured it and set it on fire. When the men of Ai looked behind them, smoke from the city was filling the sky, and they had nowhere to go. For the Israelites who had fled in the direction of the wilderness now turned on their pursuers. When Joshua and the other Israelites saw that the ambush had succeeded and that smoke was rising from the city, they turned and attacked the men of Ai. Then the Israelites who were inside the city came out and started killing the enemy from the rear. So the men of Ai were caught in a trap, and all of them died. Not a single person survived or escaped. Only the king of Ai was taken alive and brought to Joshua.
When the Israelite army finished killing all the men outside the city, they went back and finished off everyone inside. So the entire population of Ai was wiped out that day – twelve thousand in all. For Joshua kept holding out his spear until everyone who had lived in Ai was completely destroyed. Only the cattle and the treasures of the city were not destroyed, for the Israelites kept these for themselves, as the LORD had commanded Joshua. So Ai became a permanent mound of ruins, desolate to this very day. Joshua hung the king of Ai on a tree and left him there until evening. At sunset the Israelites took down the body and threw it in front of the city gate. They piled a great heap of stones over him that can still be seen today.
Check out verse 9 on this *ahem* baby:
Psalms
Chapter 137
1
1 By the rivers of Babylon we sat mourning and weeping when we remembered Zion.
2
2 On the poplars of that land we hung up our harps.
3
There our captors asked us for the words of a song; Our tormentors, for a joyful song: "Sing for us a song of Zion!"
4
But how could we sing a song of the LORD in a foreign land?
5
If I forget you, Jerusalem, may my right hand wither.
6
May my tongue stick to my palate if I do not remember you, If I do not exalt Jerusalem beyond all my delights.
7
Remember, LORD, against Edom that day at Jerusalem. They said: "Level it, level it down to its foundations!"
8
Fair Babylon, you destroyer, happy those who pay you back the evil you have done us!
9
3 Happy those who seize your children and smash them against a rock.
History. Just keeps repeating itself, doesn't it?.
Here's one I do like though, and I thought of it when I read your post:
"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."
Matthew 7:1-5
Your comments show you know nothing about either religion. Judaism encourages dissent and debate, Islam requires only slavish obedience. Jews do not view all portions of their holy books as having the same status - some are clearly just historical narratives. Muslims on the other hand take everything in the Koran literally. If you are a muslim and you do not accept as literally true even a tiny portion of it, you will be labelled an 'apostate' and killed.
Mohammed got enraged when he found that few or no Jews would convert to Islam voluntarily, as Jews generally found it barbaric and primitive compared to their own religion. That's when he took against them and started murdering them, as a way of both converting them by force and preventing dissent in his own ranks.
And by the way, this is not about sitting in judgement. It is about using critical reasoning powers and common sense, capacities you are clearly short of.
You've convinced me, Avi. You're feckin great and the Muslims are all bold boys. Good man now.
Next time I go to the hospital and a brown skinned foreignor comes along I should find out if they are Muslim. If they are then I will refuse to be treated by them.
This is because Avi is very clever. He has shown me the error of my ways. Before, I used to talk to anyone. Now I know that I should not talk to Muslims; them and their elders are constantly plotting against us Christians.
Just because Jews have narratives in their testament exorting the tribes of Israel to conquer and invade Caananites, and Christ says somewhere in the New Testament that he brings not peace but the sword, does not mean all Christians or Jews will feel this way.In fact none of them will. Why?Avi H told me so.
Every single Msulim though, will obey the nasty parts of the Koran.Don't be fooled by the Alevi muslims of Turkey who ignore Sharia edicts banning alcohol; it is all part of The Plot.
Not all Muslims are recognisable as such, so it is necessary that they be forced to wear Yellow Crescent Moon badges on their clothing so we will know who they are!
Then Western Victory will be ours.
Pim Fortyn was not killed by a religious extremist. He was killed by an animal rights extremist.
People like Daniel Pearl were murdered by people who dwell at the far end of the human spectrum. Saying that their killers are Muslims, therefore Muslims are killers, is nonsesnse.
It would be like saying all animal rights activists are killers on account of the fate of Pim Fortyn.
"Next time I go to the hospital and a brown skinned foreignor comes along I should find out if they are Muslim. If they are then I will refuse to be treated by them"
That's your choice. If he's wearing a bomb belt, it's probably a good choice. If your Doctor is a hindu you don't have to worry one bit (Hindus are some of the favorite targets of the Religion of Peace)
You might also consider Moslem pilots, if you're taking a trip overseas. Some have been known to crash their commercial airliners...but on the bright side, not all Moslem pilots do that.
Bottom line, no matter what you're doing, if you hear "Allahu Akbar."..hit the dirt!! Alternatively, if you hear that phrase, you could run up to the speaker and give him a hug and say that you understand and he's justified in his actions...
But, do so quickly before he detonates.
the like of Avi H knows well what he is attempting to argue is ballix. However, he is a great big proud army man.Admitting your wrong is a sign of veekness! The reason we don't hear no more from him now is because if this was an actual room he'd be headbutting and intimidating people, or accusing people of anti semitism so as to 'justify' doing such.
However, as an Israeli and hence a person born into a protracted ethnic conflict, he can be allowed some leeway and let mouth on. At the end of the day, he knows he won't win over people by his arguments, all he is doing is verbally defending his turf.
Sad really, but given his particular circumstances, to be expected.
No, Avi, not because you are a Jew, but because you come from a violent part of the world, and violence begets violence.Hence, your angry racist views against all Muslims.A good number of Palestinians hold equally rancourous views against all Jews. I'm sure an exortion to an angry and traumatised Palestinian "that not all Jews etc " would fall on deaf ears :0)
you can say what you like about Islam but the fact is, that the more stupid people tell lies about Islam the more intelligent people will study Islam and discover that-------
As a Muslim it is forbidden to kill any innocent person,
There is a sura- chapter of the qur'an called al-Kafiroun the unbeliever and the main message is-lakum deenakum wa leeadeen which means to you be your religion and to me be mine...
Islam is peace but if you attack me or any of my family I will retaliate. How is it ok for UK and US and Israel to have nuclear weapons and armies and bombs. As a Muslim I can see the enemy but I cannot see my defence!!
Think about it,all you ignorant war mongers----if you keep killing Muslims at some stage someone will respond---
Therefore stop war- stop killing Muslims and we can all live happily ever after insha Allah...
xxx
We will have world peace when we rid the world of obscurantist charlatans like Bush and Bin Laden and free our minds of the illusions sown by every religion. There is no Allah, God, Yaweh etc etc only us, and only we can make this a peaceful and better world. Real freedom will come when we have freed our minds of fairytales, east and west!
Neither Mecca nor Washington but the emancipation of all the oppressed.
O God! whatever your religion, what I have just read in some of those comments is absolutely disgraceful! Have ye forgotten the holocaust? its probably stupid people like you who Hitler had in his army, the next thing ye will say he had the right idea. I think in muslim and in christian religions the teachings is about the same.love your neighbour, yes Bush has caused an awful lot of this trouble but why do people have to stand with him why not stand against him and all other leaders who show such little respect for human life.it does'nt have to be with guns or suicide bombers, dont forget there were all nationalities maimed in those bomb attacks. May God bless all of you whatever your colour or creed!
