new thing i just heard about, see link

This book on urban design extends and develops the widely accepted 'compact city' solution. It provides a design proposal for a new kind of sustainable urban landscape: Urban Agriculture. By growing food within an urban rather than exclusively rural environment, urban agriculture would reduce the need for industrialized production, packaging and transportation of foodstuffs to the city dwelling consumers. The revolutionary and innovative concepts put forth in this book have potential to shape the future of our cities quality of life within them.

Greetings all! I'm a biointensive farmer from California where I have been working and studying at a reserach farm for sustainable agriculture. It is run by John Jeavons and its focus is on small-scale subsistence farming that promotes closed-system, soil-building techniques. I would really like to come visit and even work for a few days at your project. I cannot find a website or exact location of the project. I'm also very interested in any other urban garden projects that are happening in Dublin. I hold a series class in California for sustainable backyard garden classes and I'd love to teach a few of the components while in Dublin. If anyone can connect me in some ways or would like to get together, that would be delightful. I'll be getting to dublin late June. Thanks very much!
