From handing over the Chagos Islands to compensating Gerry Adams, Starmer's decisions owe more to human rights lawyers than sound politics. He needs to sack his chum Lord Hermer before he shipwrecks his Government.

One figure that has been repeatedly cited in the grooming gangs debate is that 1 in 73 Muslim men in the town of Rotherham has been prosecuted for grooming gang offences. However, this figure is slightly misleading.

Keir Starmer wants Britain to be both an "AI superpower" and a "clean energy superpower". He can't have it both ways, says Ben Pile. AI is hugely energy intensive and inconsistent with the path Net Zero is leading us down.

George Bush Time Magazine person of the year 2004

category international | anti-war / imperialism | opinion/analysis author Tuesday December 21, 2004 00:29author by An Púca - Mé Féinauthor email flannbui at yahoo dot com Report this post to the editors

George bush recieves this coveted award for the second time.

George Bush has been named Time magazine person of the year 2004. Last year the award went to the the U.S. soldier and in 1990 the award went to George Bush Senior.

Other notable warcriminals who have won this award include:

Adolf Hitler in 1939 while he was preparing the invasion of Poland and the plotting the mass murder of jews. political opponents, gypsies, trade unionists and immigrants.

Joseph Stalin in 1940 and 1949 who tortured, starved and murdered the people of the U.S.S.R. for decades.

Winston Churchill in 1942 and 1949. Churchill sent the "Black and Tans" to Ireland and vigiourously supported the reprisal policy designed to opress the people of Ireland.

It is great to see that Mr. Bush's record of warmongering, torture, opression, exploitation, pillage and corruption have earned him a fitting place alonside tyrants, dictators and murderers. It is our job to ensure that George Bush and his collaboraters in Fianna Fáil occupy a similar position in the Irish consciousness.
