This Thursday and Friday people in Belfast and Dublin and others who can get there, will have the opportunity to hear an extraordinary account of the US invasion and occupation of Iraq from the point of view of a medical Doctor and journalist based in the city of Fallujah.

This Thursday and Friday people in Belfast and Dublin and others who can get there, will have the opportunity to hear an extraordinary account of the US invasion and occupation of Iraq from the point of view of a medical Doctor and journalist based in the city of Fallujah.

Dr Salam Ismael is from Fallujah. He was the chief of Junior Doctors in Baghdad during the invasion. He has been working specifically in Fallujah for the last year. He is also general secretary of the NGO, Doctors for Iraqi Society. In his capacity as a medical doctor, Salam has seen, at close quarters, the bloody reality of the
US occupation of Iraq.

As we all know, Fallujah has been at the centre of US propaganda to justify
continued military aggression by occupation forces. The city has been presented as a
hornets nest of Al Queda supporters and Saddam loyalists. This image has been
used to justify a brutal siege, lasting months, and the recent full-scale assault by US
forces.

Dr Salam Ismael and Independent Journalist Lee Gordon will present a vastly
different view of Fallujah and the describe the terrible reality that its inhabitants have
Suffered as result of the US occupation.
