Chilean economist speaks about neo-liberalism

category dublin | worker & community struggles and protests | event notice author Wednesday November 17, 2004 02:00author by TCD Anarchist Society Report this post to the editors

"Restructuring the US economy and the Annexation of Latin America"

Talk given by the Chilean economist Orlando Caputo Leiva.

The changes on the US economy have influenced their politics, and therefore, have dramatically altered the state of the whole world. In light of the economic restructuring of the USA, we can better understand how their policy regarding Latin America is leaning towards an integration that deepens dependency, through Free Trade Agreements.

These policies, of course, have as their main victims, the people of Latin America, who see their rights restricted and taken to the extremes, both the exploitation and the imperialist looting of our countries.

ARTS BLOCK, Room 5039, Trinity College.
Monday 22nd November, 7pm

Hosted by the Latin America Solidarity Centre and Trinity Anarchist Society.

All welcome.
