Some Indymedia readers may be interested in this. There is a tender out on 16 Upper Leeson Street. Price is around €750,000. In need of complete renovation, major structural damage. You can get an application form from the HOK office on Molesworth Street, just down the road from the Dáil. As the blurb below says, the Council wont necessarily take the highest bid, so get your forms in. Noon tomorrow (Friday October 21st) is the closing time. |

For those who don't know about it and can't figure out why indymedia has suddenly developed a property section, this building formerly housed dublin squatters the magpie collective.

This was a little later as they continued to do their best to make it habitable, and lets be honest they did all the right things- They slept there. They ate there. They sheltered from the Cold wind and Harsh rain there and there they enjoyed their nourishing veggie stews.

And they all learnt a lot throughout the experience and none of them stopped being homeless after for unspecified reasons the Dublin authorities evicted them despite support from a wide range of society including their neighbours.
