I thought the point of occupying derelict properties was to highlight the continuing waste of certain properties and to use them for some alternative, useful purpose.

If these properties are on the market, then they are destined soon for some use.

You might as well break into somebody's house while they are on holidays.

Only properties left derelict by landlords and not onthe market should be occupied.

I dont think these properties are "on the market", I think original poster was being a little satirical with estate agents plugs for properties, e.g. "good ventilation" for a house with holes in every window. Lighten up folks!

Anyone interested in conservation and the repair of old buildings - go along to lecture in Room 259 DIT Bolton Street on Tuesday October 12th

Blurb that I have seen:
"This meeting wil discuss theh philosophy of conservation and how this relates to the structural repair of buildings. Case studies will be used to illustrate how conservation and sound repair methods can relate to each other."

Would anybody know why Civil Defence are working on the new Luas project. Yesterday as I was walking by the Jervis stop for the new line I spotted people in Civil Defence jackets helping with the queuing for people who want to use the new service for free till Sunday.
What is the role of the Civil Defence and why are they working for a private company namely Connex?
