A chance to spend two days familiarising yourself with current issues facing Latin America and ways of acting in solidarity with Latin American grassroot movements.

Workshop in Latin American Issues

Concerned about issues such as child labour and human rights in Latin America? Travelling to Latin America and want to know more about the political and social reality there? Simply want to know more about the region and the issues facing it today?

The Latin America Solidarity Centre (LASC) is organising a 2-day workshop on Latin American Issues on Saturday 25 September & Saturday 16 October.

The workshop is facilitated by Latin American and Irish actisits and academics representing University of Limerick, Dublin City University, Medicines for All, Comhlamh, Irish Congress of Trade Unions and CESEMA community education project, Nicaragua.

Using interactive methodologies, the workshop will cover historical perspectives; an overview of political, economic and socio-cultural issues and trends in Latin America today; globalisation and labour; child labour; travel and volunteerism in Latin America and health in Latin America.

The workshop will be held in central Dublin from 10am-5pm each day and costs €35, €25 (concessions). It is organised by the Latin America Solidarity Centre, an education, solidarity and cultural organisation which aims to link Latin America and Ireland.
