Today, activists from the Galway Grassroots Network were graced with the presence of Owen Rice

who aided and abetted them in the distribution of their 'AmBush 2004' leaflets outside Lynch's castle. Owen, it is reputed, participated in a morning Galway Ad-Buster action before doing some serious writhing on the cobble stones and hanging from the odd lamp post or two (see pics), when he headed off to Ennis and Mary Kelly's trial on Wednesday, the city fathers, their collective nerve flittered, were observed tacking a sign on the South gate, entitled, "May the good Lord preserve us from the ferocious Black Pope", amen.

Donagh and Owen.

Did Eoin get himself another visit from the Gards, or did that judge give him an extra judicial thumping?

No it's ok, Joe, I haven't left anybody.. it was a gesture of, eh, hands (placards) across the sectarian divide.. which in the magical pixie kingdom of Galway is sometimes permeable... Something to do with all the soothing drumming noises in the background, maybe.

from what I can tell, two disgruntled litter wardens, upset that they have no power to usurp constitutional law, and even more upset because the Garda is playing good cop, because she actually has the intelligence to recognise this fact.

I could be wrong but the smaller Gardai looks cross- maybe she wishes she was around in 1930s Russia, then she'd be able to wear an NKVD badge, and there'd be no nonsense talk about constitutions or whatever.
