Galway Mary Kelly Support Group are still doing their stuff !![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yesterday, three candidates for Galway City Council did their stuff for Mary. Yesterday, Kieran Cunnane from the Greens (the nearest guy in the first photo), Danny Callanan from Sinn Fein and Billy Cameron (holding placard), Labour, prised themselves from their canvassing to affirm their solidarity for Mary by leafletting passing pedestrians from our usual pitch at the junction of High St/Shop St, to boot, Aaron, a Grassroots activist, journeyed all the way from Athlone to similiarly do his duty and to participate in the protest, further up the street, organised by the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign against the IDF butchery of the Rafah refugees. John Gallagher, a strong activist from the SWP, Michael, a Phd student in the NUIGalway Center for Human Rights and Alice from the Global Women's Strike also manned the info table. To finish an almost perfect day, Phil and Brigitte, two Grassroots ultra-activists provided primo victuals for John and myself, serving us, as it were, high tea on High St (borne on a huge tray from their nearby flat). Fair play and gratitude to everyone concerned, but for Jaysus's sake, Brigitte, go easy on the organic tomatoes, s'il vous plait, next Saturday.? Public support for Mary is discernibly strenghtening - the decency and tolerance threshold of the public has been trespassed and shited upon by Ahern &Co once too often, I reckon, and theyv'e had enough. |
