The Royal wedding held on 14th May sent people onto the streets and the homeless to a great free feast at Christiania even though the cost of the wedding was 144million danish croner (about £20 mill. english pounds)-there were no left- overs for the 'paupers' from the galla-dinner.

May 14th the Danish crown prince royal wedded his australian/scottish bride.The Peace Watch(standing every day since october 2001) was removed from the parliament square by security as it was on the royal route through the city and was stated as regarded as messy and possibly antagonising for the spectators.
Same day the danish minister of defence demanded, along with the EU, an excessive UN resolution on Iraqui democracy before he would consider withdrawing Danish troops from the warzone.
Saturday may 15th over 1000 people went to the streets in Copenhagen, in the "Reclaim the Streets" for the people by the people.As the event was taking place 39 were arrested and charged with 'street disorder'.With paroles such as
"sanctuary for the people" the event was also a manifestation against the liberal/conservative governments offensive politic in closing down and selling out of Christiania-the independant town within Copenhagen, whose inhabitants had served the free feast for the homeless while the wedding guests were dining for millions.At least 2 Youth Houses, in the centre of the capital city, are being closed down-so "Reclaim the Streets" placed toilets,washing machines,ovens on the street and partyed all day.No more arrests were made even though the police kept an eye on the Event.
