Le Pen run out of town

Eye witness account from demo against Le Penn, Manchester 25-4-04

“The BNP’s publicity stunt for the press was supposed to be a closely guarded secret but we got word of the location on Sunday afternoon from a friendly source. Although time was tight and the location outside Manchester we got 300+ out to the hotel in time to meet the nazis trying to leave. The police were out in force but didn’t have much of a clue what they were at. The hotel’s rubbish bins were handily located and le prick’s car was soon covered in garbage. His thugs had dressed up in suits but were still clearly thugs and badly rattled. They obviously had visions of their boy getting a bad seeing to. Unfortunately this didn’t happen.

For the next 30-40 minutes the car was inched out of the hotel car park as we were pushing right up against it. Griffin was badly embarrassed as it was obvious the anti fascists had won the day and could have done damage to car and occupants. In the end Lancashire’s finest just about got them out and didn’t seem to notice the goons throwing punches at demonstraters, women included. Of the 1 anti fascist arrest I know of he was later released without charge. The nazi wagon was last seen breaking speed limits to get out of the town.”
