A Day of Infamy Sun Mar 23, 2025 09:00 | Toby Young
Five years ago today, a supposedly freedom-loving government, led by a libertarian conservative, oversaw the greatest interference in our liberty in the history of these islands. Why? How? What were they thinking?

How the Rainbow Dildo Butt-Monkey Came to Symbolise Modern Britain Sun Mar 23, 2025 07:00 | Steven Tucker
What possessed a London library to invite a man dressed as a 'rainbow dildo butt-monkey' to read books to four year-olds? Steven Tucker isn't sure, but the fact that the area is 31% Muslim sums up modern Britain.

Although I prefer what GenMac Arthur said;"Only the soilder prays hardest for peace. For it is he who sees and suffers it in all its horror."
yet even McArthurs bloodlust got the better of him, after Korea he had to be forcibly reigned-in when he declared he was ready to march on China and destroy communism (all n his own apparently)
Generals talk alot of blood and guts, salt of the earth , buddy buddy SHITE.
Siegfried Sassoon had them right.
"IF I were fierce, and bald, and short of breath,
I’d live with scarlet Majors at the Base,
And speed glum heroes up the line to death.
You’d see me with my puffy petulant face,
Guzzling and gulping in the best hotel, 5
Reading the Roll of Honour. ‘Poor young chap,’
I’d say—‘I used to know his father well;
Yes, we’ve lost heavily in this last scrap.’
And when the war is done and youth stone dead,
I’d toddle safely home and die—in bed."
In October 1945, Patton assumed command of the Fifteenth Army in American-occupied Germany. On December 9, he suffered injuries as the result of an automobile accident. He died 12 days later, on December 21, 1945 and is buried among the soldiers who died in the Battle of the Bulge in Hamm, Luxembourg.
By Korea,Mac Arthur was already too old to be in command of a modern battlefield. As well as that his mindset had been one of a overlord of Japan. His brilliant Inchon landing of Un forces in attempt to cut the Korean forces in half was then overshadowed by the fuck ups of Chosin resovior, and the rentless push towards the Chinese border.Actually President Truman fired him, because his actions and reports were becoming totally erratic and unstable.
On the other hand if he had been allowed to go up to the Yalau river ,maybe we wouldnt have a rouge totaliarian stalinist nuke state up there.
Somthing that applies to all leaders and generals
"The art of war is of supreme importance to the state. It is not to be trifiled with as the life or death of the state hangs in the balance of it and its comannders".
