Macron claims that Russia is an ?existential threat? to Europe. Yet his actions belie this. France has given Ukraine 12 times less aid than Denmark. And it's still importing billions of euros of Russian energy.

The BBC has run a story claiming UK spring temperatures are up 1.8?C. It's alarmist agitprop straight from a Green Blob press release and it doesn't check out when you look at the facts, says Chris Morrison.

The Javaad Alipoor Company is a theatre company with a woke "nine-point manifesto that drives everything we do". Inevitably, the Arts Council is stuffing it with taxpayers' cash. Why do we fund this crap?

Jan 3rd-Another Europe is Possible meeting

category national | eu | event notice author Monday December 22, 2003 13:29author by rory hearne - another europe is possibleauthor email rhearne at tcd dot ie Report this post to the editors

Next meeting of another europe is possible jan 3rd- and minutes from dec 13th meeting

The Next meeting of another europe is possible; Jan 3rd-2pm in the teachers club, parnell sq, Dublin for the next meeting, please let other groups know and invite them along.

Rory
Below is what was agreed at the meeting on december 3rd

1. To set up an alliance called ‘another Europe is possible’ with the aim of bringing as many groups and individuals together from all over the Island of Ireland to co-ordinate events during the EU presidency

2. This alliance has a co-ordinating group that will meet to organise events, do media work etc. Representatives from different groups are nominated to the group and it is also open to individuals (first meeting is January 3rd at 2pm in the Teachers Club, Parnell Sq)

3. A calendar of events was agreed:
Main event- 01 May Overarching Event (A party for the people to outdo the government’s party with all 25 heads of state of the EU, all issues)

22/23 January Launch of Alliance/coalition
-20 February Article 133 meeting (Protest against privatisation of public services)
20 March Anti-War Event to be organised by IAWM, PANA, NGO PA. (Endorsed by alliance/coalition).

Other protests/events on other dates e.g. Protest in Galway early January, Counter Summit at Finance Ministers Meeting in April, Protest at Environment Ministers Meeting in Waterford is already being organised locally.

4. We think; The Irish Government and the EU are promoting a Europe of neoliberalism/privatisation and militarism/war. The struggles and campaigns here in Ireland of workers (especially bin workers, transport workers, teachers) against privatisation, students for a better education, movements against war, communities for public housing, against service charges and for womens rights are the movements for another Europe-this is the Europe we demand- a Europe of social rights and peace. We are not against Europe but instead are for another Europe. We express our solidarity with the people of Eastern Europe and call for an end to the terrible treatment of immigrants by European governments.

In attendence; individuals and groups; (IPSC), (DAPSE),Green Party , (Sinn Fein), (Busworkers AG), (Community Worker), (NGO Peace Alliance), DC Anti-Bin Tax Campaign, (Community Workers, Fatima), (Oxigen Strike Committee), (DAPSE, ATTAC Ireland, Sustaining Ireland Coop), (Socialist Party), (SIPTU), (South East Social Forum), (Alliance for Choice), (GR), (SWP), WP, IAWM, PANA, ASTI, NCAD SU, UCD SU, Residents Against Racism

1) the above.
2) the rumoured demise of €U constitutional declarations in Dublin.

I love this, I would be most unhappy {as would be my ilk} [from lovable characters to misnomered grouplets] (sorry Bertie and Dr Avi. etc) if there is ever any one, *_that is a single one*_ of those shitty €uropean Treaties or massive dodgey meetings [sorry Mammy Harney] in Dublin.

There was no "treaty of Dublin".
there will be no "Dublin statement".
