All Dublin Campaign Against the Bin Tax Activist Meeting

category dublin | bin tax / household tax / water tax | event notice author Thursday December 04, 2003 21:17author by Paul Kinsella - Santry Campaign Against the Bin Taxauthor email paulkinsella53 at yahoo dot comauthor address 53 Lorcan Grove, Santry, Dublin 9author phone 085-1478100 Report this post to the editors

Saturday 6th December, Central Hotel, Exchequer Street, 12pm-4pm

Dear Activists

A special all Dublin activist meeting is taking place on Saturday 6th December in the Central Hotel. Activists from the four local authority areas will be attending - Fingal, South County Dublin, Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown and Dublin City.

The four local authorities have reacted differently to the new power to implement non collection, and the campaigns have responded accordingly. Reports will be given from each campaign area. A general discussion on tactics and the way to progress the campaigns will then take place.

A good turn out is hoped for. Hopefully you can attend and bring other activists along.

If I can I'd like to mention two other important dates, for demonstrations:

Friday December 12th High Court, Four Courts @ 10am hearing of test case on non payment

Monday December 15th City Hall @ 6.00pm City Council meeting to vote on estimates. These are expected to include increases in Bin Charges, so this is an important demo.

After Saturday's meeting I aim to put these 2 events up seperately as 2 seperate events in the Events section, if that's ok Indymedia? I know that strictly speaking they'll be getting repeated twice, but many people who might not read this article because they're going down to the blockade of Shannon warport on Saturday would participate in these demonstrations.
