Quote: "depleted uranium is used in the weapons, this has massive results- cancer rates up @ 1000% @ balkans"

I find it hard to believe that DU has caused a 1,000% increase in Cancer(remarkbly round figure) throughout the the Balkans.

Post like this will never recieve any real recognotion, as long as they are poorly resarched (maybe an accurate figure would help, a definition of which cancres are caused, and a geographical confine , the Balkans include Greece, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Montengro, MAcedonia, Kosovo and Albania I don't think the 1,000% increase is true for the entire region)

And please if you've a valid point to make, why use edited photos? Surely the facts not emtive photography should speakl for themselves

Four Nuclear wars, dont forget Hiroshima and nagasaki turned WW2 into a nuclear war, and the other perspective to take into account is that only one nation on the planet has employed nuclear weapons, and has done so against civilians in every case.

HP (formerly Compaq and Digital before that) make software in Galway for nuclear weapons programs in France and the US. The High Powered Technical Computing (HPTC) engineering group make software there for a number of clients - most of them quite reasonable and decent - but among them are these genocidal weapons contracts for the military.

Number 1. Everybody knows about it when a nuclear bomb is used against civilians.
There is a huge fireball that incinerates a large area.
DU is much easier to cover up.

Number 2.
The destructive power of a nuclear bomb is not questioned. There are plenty of people prepared to deny that DU will cause any harm other than making a hole in a tank.

Number 3.
DU is a waste product of the nuclear industry.
It's financially better for Nuclear plants to sell this crap to the military, who will shoot it into someone else's country. The other option is having to pay to bury it in big containers.

of course the similarities are more important

1. Nuclear bombs and DU continue to damage living tissue and the environment for millenia after they are used. Those not immediately killed are at higher risk of cancer and other medical problems.

2. There is no shortage of 'experts' with financial links to the nuclear industry, who will deny that these weapons cause problems for people born after their use.

3. They are both in the arsenal of the US and UK.

4. They were first used against non-white people.

The bunker-busters used on the caves of Afghanistan surely are DU armaments also... no? Why wasn't this mentioned?
Ah, Cabhog... I think you misread buddy... I went back and watched again and nowhere does it say 1000% up in the Balkans... more precisely it says a 166% rise in the Kosovo region....... please reread yourself and be careful how you debunk...
Yes, attention must be brought to this... the US military is by far the worlds no.1 polluter... circulate that link as I have done... the world must know about this...

"Nearly every country in the world has nuclear weapons. America just chose to use them more frequently. It's not like America is the only inhumane place place in the world. "

Actually, America is the only country to ever have used a nuclear bomb. And they did it TWICE. Also, the rationale for using it was VERY dubious.
Many believe the japanese ready to surrender if they could keep their emperor. The US refused this trivial face saving cosmetic condition knowing that Japanese honour would likely not allow them to surrender otherwise. Many believe the US really wanted to use the excuse to test their weapon in combat conditions and send a strong message to the russians about military superiority.

Many historians also believe that the real factor that triggered the japanese surrender was the entry of russia into the war and not the bomb.

Currently the US have >5000 nuclear missiles ready to launch. Because of them, Israel, pakistan and india have the bomb. They were willing to supply the bomb to south africa to drop on cuban fighters in angola. The cavalier behaviour of the US with nuclear weaponry is quite frightening. Research it sometime.

And to think they are trying to get us worked up over Iran who have oh let me think....NO nuclear weapons. Makes me want to puke.
