category galway | anti-war / imperialism | news report author Thursday October 16, 2003 16:54author by Karen Eliot - The Blind Authority Manipulation Corporation Report this post to the editors

The Global Womans Strike is still continuing a weekly picket at the Galway Garda Station on Wednesdays from 1:00 to 2:00pm

The pickets have been on-going since the protests at Shannon where American warplanes are still refuelling for Iraq. The Global Womans Strike believes that the Garda are complicit in the war machine and should refuse their duty rather than participate in the death's of innocent Iraqi's and the illegal occupation of their country. Also at last Wednesday's picket were members of the Eco Society to bring awaresness to the newly launched boycott of Top Oil. Top Oil are an Irish company refulling planes at Shannon.
