The appeal by Indaver Ireland against the county councils denial of permission for their toxic waste incinerator in Ringaskiddy has degenerated into high farce. For my pains as an activist I attended the opening day of Indaver Irelands appeal against Cork County Councils refusal to grant planning permission for their incinerator in Ringaskiddy in Cork Harbour. |

Jump To Comment: 1 2i think its obvious to most of us that the incinerator will indeed go ahead. we have made our voices heard and we have been ignored. we need to be more direct and militant in our actions. i am calling on all cork enviromentalists to think carefully about a new approach for this issue and others like it. the only thing left to do in this case is to physically block the incinerator from being construsted. our voices simply aren't powerful enough.
Outside the Council offices in Cork (or whatever offices are relevant to this discussion)
Get some people together and burn some waste (in a safe but highly visible way) If the councillors can not accept a small amount of rubbish being burned where they can see it, why can they support a huge amount waste being burned in the local communities of ordinary people.
