Raidió na Life 106.4FM is celebrating ten years of broadcasting in Dublin. A celebratory Concert will take place in The Temple Bar Music Centre on 26 September 2003. The Dublin City Working Man’s Band, Eoin Coughlan, El Diablo, Caliban and Bréag will perform on the night, Tickets are only €10 and are available beforehand from the Station. Raidió na Life 106.4FM is celebrating ten years of broadcasting in Dublin. A celebratory Concert will take place in The Temple Bar Music Centre on 26 September 2003. A CD featuring tracks by some of the musicians associated with the station over the years will be released in December. Among the artists featuring on the CD are The Future Kings of Spain, Eoin Coughlan, Conor á° Tuama, Caliban and others.
Some of Raidió na Life's Programmes have won awards over the last ten years. Recently the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland awarded a prize to the Series Gaeilge na nGall Eachtrannaigh a tháinig i dTÃr Other award winning series include Ceilp, a children’s programme, Mná ag an gCrosbhóthar, a series of interviews and the current affairs programme Allagar na Cathrach.
Raidió na Life’s current Schedule as well as some programmes and other information about the station are available at www.rnl106.com. The website will begin to broadcast Raidió na Life around the world through live streaming later this year. The present schedule includes programmes in French and Ghanaian. Over the past ten years Raidió na Life has developed strong links with broadcasters at home and abroad. Programmes are exchanged with SBS in Australia, Community Radio Castlebar and Cork Campus Radio.
Raidió na Life has always been popular with music lovers. Damien Dempsey, Turin Brakes and Declan O Rourke are amongst the musicians that have recorded sessions with us recently.
Stiúideo na Life has been upgraded since the likes of Kila, Iarla á° Lionáird and Cathal Coughlan recorded there with the addition of a new Soundcraft mixing desk. Don Baker recorded his latest album in Stiúideo na Life.
Raidió na Life has always encouraged young broadcasters, many of whom now work for RTáë, TG4, TV3 and independent production companies, with some working as far afield as Sex and the City in New York.
