Na Fianna leaflet in support of Republican prisoners

category dublin | public consultation / irish social forum | news report author Tuesday August 26, 2003 16:16author by Tiocfaidh Armani - Na Fianna Eireannauthor email info at fiannaeireann dot comauthor address Dublin Report this post to the editors

Leafleting in support of Republican POW's, despite Special Branch harassment.

Na Fianna Eireann again took to the streets to highlight the plight of the political prisoners. Jointly organised with Working Class Action, they were joined by members of the IRSM Dublin, who distributed thousands of leaflets to supporters. There was a very good response from the public and some stopped to hear news of the situation in Maghaberry.
To-day saw the appearance of the Dublin Special political police, for a simple leafleting of a GAA game. Did they harass the many ticket touts around the ground, looking to rob the people out enjoying the day in Dublin. Of course not, they were out to harass Republicans, out simply leafleting. At least we know where their priorities lie!
In the coming month we hope to take the news of the plight of the Republican prisoners to the general public in the working class areas of Dublin. We hope to leaflet as many areas as possible and picket various areas, to make as many people as aware as possible.
If anybody wishes to help us in this, you can contact Na Fianna Eireann at the email address below for information.

I was in aboozer in Inchicore last night justa fter the game, and only a fraction of the people in their even gave you a glance, never mind a donation! So where these 'thousands' of interested persons came from I don't know!!

Oh, and another note, do ye condemn those members of the Continuity IRA and Real IRA, who have murdered innocent people in the past???

The interested people were the spectators at Croke park, mainly from Tyrone. I suppose you were going to tell me you were there as well!
We leafleted Inchicore last night as well and basically threw the leaflets on the tables etc, no big operation.
You show what a moron you are, when you prejudge that our collection for the political prisoners did not go so well. Well i counted it and i should know it went very well.
I regret the killing of ALL innocent people, regardless what religion, race or creed they are and who carried it out. Happy now.....

He didn't ask you if you "regret", he asked if you "condemn", as well you know.

Just admit it, you are part of a psycho drugdealing gang who kill people for fun.

Siobhan, the website will be ready in a couple a weeks. It will be released the same week as the new paper. At the moment is just our bulletin board, which you may find interesting. Discussion on anything really is welcome.
Finally, I would say I condemn all deliberate loss of innocent life. But unfortunately in an armed conflict innocent people will lose their lives, from both sides.
We are not pyschos and we are not drug dealers, I would keep your slander to yourself in future.

i'm not in favour of the special criminal court and am certainly not a law and order person but what is political about what these people do?the vast majority of people on this island don't support their "political"actions and most of the legislation that republicans cry about(sometimes correctly)is due to the violence done by people they want this special status for.so i ask again explain to us all why they should be given political status?

They are fighting an illegal occupation in our country, and fighting to remove that presence. What is not political about that?
The men of 1916 had very little support from the people of Ireland. Were they not political? It is always our right to fight, if your land is being occupied by an aggressive foreign force.
This land is being held with force and have the right to get it back with force, as we have done thorugh the centuries.
Of course the people who fight that force are political.

fighting an aggressive military force?you mean a force for which there would be no need if there wasn't sectarian violence from both sides.as for this political quest you don't even have the support of the majority in the north never mind here, the republic you fight for is based on democracy ie.democratic decisions.as to the typical 1916 reference,i think they got support within a week as opposed to the 30+ years you lot have had.it is also noteworthy that pearce stopped the fighting to prevent innocents being killed and never knee-capped or sold drugs to anyone.it may be political to you but then the majority still support a special criminal court which and non-political status for those who murder kids.
incidently the government established the special criminal court as it felt a normal in camera sitting of a normal higher court would be too open to intimidation by your "political" friends.you are the cause of your own problem.incidently a special criminal court sitting must be set up by the agreement of a majority of the dail, democracy still rejects you.
another question.if milosevic killed for the sake of nationalism and keeping united kosovo to serbia despite the kosovars wishes and he doesn't get political status(war criminal)nor do his murdering mobs why should you?
