it doesn't have to be a diatribe, just create some original content of your own. You could for example explain the GNU/Linux is an operating system that is Free in the sense of Freedom and also Free in the sense of cost, that it runs on a wider variety of hardware than any of Microsoft or Apple's products, that it is used for a huge number of mission-critical web-servers because of its stability. That GNU/Linux is both an idealistic enterprise designed to place complete control in the hands of its users and also a business-savvy choice.

Then you could stick in some URLs to http://www.fsf.org or http://www.gnu.org and maybe some to the OSI.

Then people that haven't a clue what GNU/Linux is might be tempted to find out some more about it, you'd have created some information out of the chaos that surrounds us on the net and everyone would be happy with bunnies flopping around in the sunshine.

It sounds like a good idea. Even getting people to start using free and non-propietary software on the Win32 platform is probably a good step forward. But the info you've posted here is just cut-an-pasted from the link. Why not add some original writing of your own so that readers will be more inclined to click on the link? Maybe some background info on the direction that Microsoft OSes are going in and the possible ramifications for the freedom of people to communicate and spread ideas.
