'Eco-anxiety' affects 78% of children under 12, a crisis that teachers say they are unable to cope with, new polling by Greenpeace has found. The solution? More ruthless exposure of children to alarmist material.

Murderers of Belfast teenager Peter McBride to stay on, says MOD, despite court ruling

In a shock revelation today, British Armed Force Minister Adam Ingram announced that the Ministry of Defence has stood by the decision of an Army Board that convicted murderers Mark Wright and James Fisher should remain in the army. In addition to this it was revealed that James Fisher has been promoted to lance-corporal.

The decision flies in the face of a Belfast court of Appeal Ruling that the "exceptional circumstances" cited by the Army Board for retaining the two, did not, in fact, constitute exceptional circumstances under Army rules. The decision has left many commentators, including the Human Rights community and the Independent Assessor on Military Complaints, incredulous.

Gene McBride, the mother of the murdered father of two, likened the decision to the British Government spitting on the grave of her son. She vowed not to let the matter drop. The McBride family and the Pat Finucane Centre are now seeking legal advice to pursue the matter further.

In 1992, 19 year-old Peter McBride was shot in the back as he ran away from Scots Guardsmen Wright and Fisher seconds after they had stopped and searched him. After perjuring themselves, a Belfast court found the two guilty of murder and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

Following a British establishment-led campaign to have the two exonerated, spearheaded by the reactionary Daily Mail, the two were released, oustide of the terms of the Good Friday Agreement and, astonishingly, reinstated in their former regiment. The full story can be found at the Pat Finucane Centre's website.

It is believed that the two are currently serving in Iraq, where they have been seconded to the Irish Guards.

The two were also recently posted in central Kenya, where British soldiers stand accused of multiple rapes and gang rapes, going back 30 years.

is stationed in Ireland to assist the crown forces in peace operations and as such is supposed to be subject to British and international Law.

It is not in Ireland to shoot kids in the back.

If the British Army had been stationed in Ireland to fight the Irish, subjegate them and systematically break their bollox, then the Daily Mail agenda would be understandable.

But we of the Left generally prefer the Guardian version that really they are just poor hapless kids from the north of England with few employment prospects and they really don't want to break the Irish bollox @ all.

So are they murderers with license? If so then they are in Ireland as an invasion/occupation force. If not, then when they murder and it is not in self-defence they are quite simply murderers. It is generally thought that "good" soldiers and military types know the value of discipline and not firing their guns and at anyone.

And Conor those photos of that internet guru must be matched by this photo of another internet guru...

It's not surprising. The ultimate purpose of soldiers is to murder, so why are we surprised?

Why indeed are we surprised that the British army shoots dead an unarmed civillian in the back on a north belfast inner city street in broad daylight. Why are we surprised?

I suppose it is a natural occurence everyday in dublin, or on the streets of manchester, british army soldiers just opening up and shooting dead civillians in the back.

Why are we surprised?, I'm sure you and tinpot totalitarian tony blur would like it to be a normal everyday, not out of the ordinary occurence elsewhere in Ireland and britain.

I too would like such occurences to be common place on the streets of cities in England and london. Then Tony and his military war pigs would really have a civil war on their hands.
