Foreign Secretary David Lammy set out "the future of the U.K.'s foreign policy" this week. It's an abysmal vision, says Dr. David McGrogan, but it gives hope that the edifice of 'progressive realism' will soon collapse.

Pit Stop Ploughshares Peace Walk Info
J24 International Solidarity

CONTENTS

1) Information for Beginning of Peace Walk from Shannon J21

2) International Solidarity Vigil for June 24th at Irish Embassies, Consulate and Other Sites of Significance

1) INFORMATION FOR BEGINNING OF PEACE WALK FROM SHANNON AIRPORT J21

Ritual to Commence
Pit Stop Ploughshares Peace Walk
Shannon Airport-Limerick-Brigid's Well-Dail
Saturday June 21st.
The Pit Stop Ploughshares Community - Deirdre, Nuin, Karen, Damien & Ciaron wish to thank you for returning to Shannon Airport to
nonviolently confront Irish complicity in the continuing war on, and occupation of, Iraq. Thank you for supporting us through our nonviolent
disarmament of a U.S. Navy War Plane at Shannon on February 3rd., the initial prison time and as we journey toward trial in Dublin.
Today, we will resume the journey with a Peace Walk to Limerick. The five defendants - banned from County Clare under bail conditions - will
maintain a vigil on the Limerick border from 12 noon and will join the walk as it passes. The walk will continue into Limerick, where there will be
a "Celebration of Hope" at Riddlers Pub, Sarsfield St. 6.30 p.m. The walk will resume at Brigid's Well, Kildare on Monday 9 a.m. morning,
proceeding to Dublin and will conclude with an all night vigil at Dail Eireann on Tuesday night.
KEEPING FOCUSSED FOR PEACEMAKING
In nonviolent resistance it is always essential to maintain the initiative!
We ask you to maintain a nonviolent and respectful attitude & behavior to police, military and private security at Shannon Airport. Do not be
provoked. Do not get involved in verbal jousting with them - be focussed, assertive, respectful and nonviolent. We are here to remember
the dead, construct a shrine and leave to nonviolently confront the people who give the orders in Dublin. Do not be distracted by the order-
takers. This takes the focus off the war victims in Iraq, the role of Shannon and those responsible in Dublin.
AGENDA
-12 noon We will gather in a safe space at the entrance of the airport. Turn right at the intersection where the peace camp was once sited.
-12.15 Andrea Needham (acquitted in 1996 of 1.5 million British Sterling "criminal damage" to a British Aerospace Hawk Fighter destined to the
war on East Timor), Nuria Mustafa (a member of the Iraqi community in Ireland), Ed Horgan (former commandant in the Irish Defense Forces)
and Josh O'Shea (imprisoned in Australia for freeing Iraqi detainees) will share their experiences and insights into the war on Iraq and
nonviolent resistance to it.
-We will then move to the initial entrance (not the terminal) to construct a shrine to the Iraq slain.
-1.20 We will begin the walk to Shannon Town, where some of our speakers will address the Cork anti-war group who are assembling there at
2 pm
-2.30 The walk will continue to join the defendants on the Limerick border and then on to Limerick City Centre.
-A Celebration of Hope will take place from 6.30 p.m. at Riddlers Bar, Sarsfield St.
(opposite Dunnes)
Thanx again

Hi,

We are two Irish people involved in the Monday-demo Anti-war Vigil at the
Brandenburg Gate every Monday evening (6 o'clock to 8) in Berlin.

I don't know what other plans may be made for Berlin but we
certainly intend to organize a vigil outside the Irish Embassy here in
Friedrich Strasse on Tuesday 24th between 10-6 o'clock. We will make
flyers, contact press, gather signatures and hand them to the Embassy
and take some pictures to send on to you.

It would be good to know if you have any information from anyone else planning
something in Berlin.

Regards and solidarity,

Doug
