The world needs a global military alliance against the US and perhaps NATO could provide this if the US were to be evicted from NATO. The US should also be evicted from the UN, and the UN headquarters should be moved to Geneva.
The world should make it absolutely, crystal clear to the American people that that belligerent arrogance on war, the environment, social justice, etc will have serious consequences. This will be good for Americans, becasuse they would clearly prefer to learn their lessons through restictions on trade, travel, investment than by the Bin laden method, effective as that it...
And will anyone else be evicted? Like Burma? North Korea? Zimbabwe?
Maybe what we need to do is dissolve NATO and enter into a new alliance with the Russians or Chinese.
We'll see how those Belgians rethink their attitudes then.
It's not being used and I'm sure their war-ciminals would be safe from prosecution there! It's an equal opportunity employer!

it was the USA that hadn't paid its near $1 billion debt for years.
I'm not sure what the current status of this debt is now, Clinton could never get passed Sen Helms' veto - Bush may have paid some to get the UN to swallow the pill and bribe it for war, but i doubt it. I know that Sen Jesse Helmes finally gave the go ahead to pay this off - but I wonder if the moeny ever got there.
