Well it's that time of the year again when eight of the worlds most powerful leaders get together to "discuss" current political issues. However it's also that time of year when the ever increasing masses join together to let them know that they were not buying into the lies.

Groups from all over the world gathered in and around Geniva (some for over two weeks before the demonstrations were due to begin)
to highlight issues including world poverty, glovlisation and the enviromkent.
The athmosphere resembled that of a party or celebration, a comming together of hearts and mind for one purpose, to build a better world.

The largest demonstration of the weekend began with a 4.30am blockade of the bridges leading from the center of Geniva to Evian were the heads of state were having their "discussions." The aim of this was to delay the arrival of the backstage crew. Without these people it would be difficult for them to procede smoothly.
As the day got hotter the crowds get bigger, and by early morning the crowds had swelled to 150,000. The march began to move off at about 10.30am
and the blocade turned it's attention to the magor moterway in an attempt to cut off access by road.
The demonstration passed off peacfully but some trouble did flare up later when small groups of protesters clashed with police on the outscerts of Geniva.

Overall it was a wonderful weekend of discussions and demonstrations.
However, on the political frunt, little or no progress was made.
We came home to find out the the biggest debate that the corporate media could come up with was how long would the French and American leaders shake hands for.....
Realy! Who cares!
