Call for Support from Limerick Prison![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Below is part of a letter I received from Eamon Murphy, currently in Limerick Prison as a result of anti-war actions. Background: Eamon was one of the people arrested on March 1st. He was convicted a few weeks later. As Eamon is a resident of Limerick City, he was not banned from the entire County of Clare but did get less stringent conditions attached. He attended another demo at the airport where he was spotted by Inspector Kennedy, who threatened to arrest him. He didn't actually arrest him but did report him as a few days later Eamon received a citation to court. he has been in limerick prison since, for breach of bail and contempt. Letter: Greetings from Hell! At least that's what it's like here sometimes. Communication with the outside world (even my family) is very difficult. Also, it is not possible to say everything one would like to. Next court appearances are Ennis 6th June and Ennis or Shannon 12th June. Would appreciate any support that can be mustered for these dates. It may be dawning on people that for this cause, to which so many people are committed, in order to make further progress, must become - that dirty word - political. Please try to post contents of this letter to indymedia.ie with this message: SUPPORT PEACE PARTY. E.J. Murphy If anyone wants to write to Eamon, the address is: Eamon Murphy, |

He will be in court in Ennis on Friday, and again in Shannon (along with the 2 Potato ploughshares - Jenny and Martin) on the 12th.
Great to be out. I was actually banned from all of Clare but got the High Court to reverse this decision. Thanks to all for the letters. I will be in Kilrush on the 21st. if I have escaped further jail. I am confident of walking free on the 12th in Shannon. It would be extremely good fun if those gangsters Ahern and Smith turn up and I am waiting to see what further action the law will take in this regard. Keep in touch.
Adam, it is not strictly true to say I was jailed for contempt. This was a remand and certainly I annoyed the judge. However, my next court appearance should tell a story. But many thanks for the publicity. Mabye see you soon?
