does all Ireland look like that?
do all your police have bikes?
and smile so cheerfully?
& last year I like many were shocked to learn on other networks that the people of Ireland would be subjected to electro-magnetic radiation inteference from a "big metal spike", is that the spike?
and are there trees on all Irish streets?
and is that a foreign young lady with the "I like bike"?

we really must remember the Teaching English as a Foreign Language side of the Indymedia project.

Foreigners Note!!!

I like bike is gramatically incorrect.
you should say
I like bikes.
or I like the bikes.
now I like the bikes, specify one group of bikes as opposed to bikes in general. In English we normally use the "zero article" for talking about nouns in general.
try this out for yourself.
1. I like bikes.
2. I like protests.
3. I don't like cars.
4. I don't like television.
now NOTE!! that we don't say I don't like "televisions", television is a different type of noun and if we use it in the plural the sense would be altered.

Well of course English is a difficult language at times, and nobody will object if you copy the Irish woman's poster pictured above and say
"I like Bike".
