There are 21 sets of photos, 8 seperate pieces of video and dozens of accounts of the Feb 15th Demo.
From a variety of contributors.
Tom asks "why is it that this pretty small action is getting more coverage photos etc than the Feb 15 demo?"
This is a pretty interesting question. Oddly Tom seems to blame "the priorities of the average imc poster" for this. Now I reckon less then 10 people have actually posted RTS pictures or around 1% of those in attendence. I know some and perhaps most of those 10 also posted F15 pictures.
This suggests that Tom is putting the blame in the wrong place. Why blame the 1% of the RTS people who bothered to post photos of that event for the fact that not even 0.02% of the F15 folk bothered to post photos of F15?
The real question if why did so few F15 people post photos. A question that is underlined further when you consider of those who did post more then a quarter also posted RTS photos.
Does this tell us something about the manner in which F15 was organised and the role most people saw themselves having in the event? On the rather weak sample of 'photos posted to indymedia' it would seem that those at the RTS were 50 to 100 times more likely to think they should report on the event in some manner here. Perhaps this indicates some positive features of the way RTS is organised that F15 lacked?
All questions worth asking, any speculation as to answers Tom?
but why is it that this pretty small action is getting more coverage photos etc than the Feb 15 demo? What does this say about the priorities of the average imc poster?
work. Nice photos.
yes it was fun although people forget that you have to make the fun yourself!! as allways some people are confused for the first hour or so. There were people from around the area coming down to have a peek and stay if they were into it. Plenty of kids and a few teenage girls who were checking out the dancing (disapproving at the lack of co-ordination etc. - too funny).
no grief from loonies and madmen that I could see.
Does it just have to be an RTS event for people to have fun on the streets? Is that all RTS is, people having fun? If there is more and I know there was more on the poster, what is the rest of it? Did the day reach out to the local community?
All just questions, hope you all had a good day.
