The Blob has sunk to new depths in its quest to destroy educational freedom. No wonder, says Randall Hardy. It's only the right to withdraw children from the state system that restrains its worst indoctrinating tendencies.

NATO approve new Irish Army Commander

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday May 07, 2003 09:16author by James McKennaauthor email jimmymac61 at hotmail dot com Report this post to the editors

Canada to control Irish in Kabul

The International Security Assistance Force which was intially set up under a UN resolution but has since become the servant of US Central Command and more recently NATO is now to be commanded on the ground by Canada. Thought you might like to know !

Why should this concern Ireland who has no connection with NATO or USCENTCOM? We don't have anything to do with them ,do we? Of course not, if we did it would be mentioned on the Defence Forces website

www.military.ie

Unfortunately we do have soldiers serving under NATO in Afghanistan, since it unilaterally decided it was taking over control from US Central Command a couple of weeks ago. For some reason the US did not oppose the takeover and perhaps a clue is to be found in Romano Prodys comment last week that "NATO is the arch the joins the US and the EU."

The Irish Government and Defence Forces have at every stage prevented the distribution of information regarding our soldiers in Afghanistan. If forced to make a statement on their ISAF involvement they refer to the original UN approval for the operation but never mention US Central Command control or more recently NATO control of our Irish soldiers and resources.

The army officers must surely hope for nice jobs in exotic locations if the imperial colonisation of Afghanistan is successful. Not to mention the legions of private corporate "oppertunities" for the "right" people.

The fact that they are providing static security for the US picked government in Kabul and it's proposed oil and gas pipelines while the people and culture of Afghanistan are wiped out to be replaced by "Democracy" weighs little on their ignorant souls. What price our participation in this crime?

20,000 innocent people were bombed to death in the "Liberation" of Afghanistan. Today it is run by warlords . Some heroin kings and others former Taliban. Nothing has changed except it is more lawless and the US is now about to get access to the massive Caspian Seas oil and gas reserves. And Irish army officers want to prance around with NATO or ride in their US friends Humvees in and out of Bhagram torture base! Of course they are only following Government orders but why do they defend the secrecy of the operation by not making one single mention of it on their website?

I guess they want them thinking of firing the guns and driving the tanks, not the possibility of being gutted somewhere up the Khyber Pass.

Ummm, Norb, if "Prof. Marc Herold's exhaustive study" documents 3587 civilian casualties, what does that say about McKenna's credibility, given that he claims "more than 20,000 innocent lives?"

Oh, I get it. The Al-Qaeda and Taliban killed are "innocent?" Is that it? Or is it just a simple lie? Please tell me.

It's not like we might have had some reason to attack them after September 11, 2001, they weren't promising our destruction and acting on that promise, were they? We just asked the Taliban to turn over bin Laden and his crew. The Taliban made their choice, chose to die with it.

And McKenna, what about the WOMEN killed by the Taliban for alleged assorted "indecency" or "adultery" type crimes. That's on videotape, part of the grotesqueries formerly committed at the Kabul football stadium. Cant' deny it. See the documentary "Afghanistan: Behind the Veil."

McKenna says: "What are you going to believe? Me or your lyin' eyes?"

And now the Irish Army is in league with all those horrible imperialist fascist armies: the Canadians, the French, the Germans, the USA, the Romanians, the Italians.

McKenna would say they would be better off in the mountains, fighting with the Taliban and al-Qaeda men to defend their right to keep their women down, by God and all that is decent, Allahu Akbar. Insha' Allah that McKenna would join them!!

As we fall down like trolls for NATO , in semi-secrecy, you want to argue about the number of civilians killed by the US bombing ? I don't. It's grotesque. How many is a war crime?

As for the number of gay men or women killed in Afghanistan, I would love to see some references. I have heard rumours of four men killed in Khandahar for having young boys as sex slaves? Is that who you mean? They were warlords who were kidnapping and raping but I don't know how "homosexual" they were as they also had wives and families too.

Mr Bush has sentenced more homosexuals to death as governor of Texas. How many homosexuals were among the victims of the US bombing campaign? Do you care or do you only care if it has propaganda value.

The Taliban did come to power because the people approved of their direct action against the warlords who were systematically raping and kidnapping young boys and girls from villages. The Taliban were students who took up rifles to protect their brothers and sisters from rapists , kidnappers and murderers. It was the US who in it's "plan" to control a unified Afghanistan for the oil pipeline convinced them to take more and more of the country and set up a government. Only a united Afghanistan could guarntee the safety of a precarious pipeine.

Then in July/August 2001 the stupid white men realised the Taliban are fundamentalists who see them as the devil and no amount of gold was ever going to buy their co-operation with what they see as the work of Satan. Then the propaganda, then the Pentagon and World Trade attacks, then the bombing of Afghanistan , then the US picked puppet government in Kabul PROTECTED BY THE IRISH ARMY, then lawlessness , then.......

Claims of 20,000 deaths are absurd? Hardly.
Prof. Marc Herold's exhaustive study documents more than 3,500 civilan casualties from the US/UK bombing campaign. Given that the targets were Taliban and Al Queda forces, it seems probable that more than a few of them were killed as well!

Oh yes, bring back the Taliban, they were "authentic," weren't they? They didn't finish destroying all the Buddhist statues and killing all the homosexuals in the country.

Oh, yes, what was your source for the absurd assertion that "20,000" were killed by bombing in Afghanistan?? taliban.com?
