Buddhafield Ireland 2003: date for your diary!

Meditation - ritual - bodywork
Practice in nature in a Celtic context
Children-friendly retreat

Buddhafield Ireland 2003 will take place at the Grove of
Sinann, Leitrim, from Friday August 15th to Monday
August 18th, bringing together Buddhist meditation, ritual
and bodywork for a camping retreat in the magical
indigenous context of the Grove. The weekend will be
dedicated to spiritual practice connecting body, emotions
and mind with the world outside ourselves - human,
natural and other!

Buddhafield Ireland is dedicated to extending spiritual
practice into all reaches of our being. In meditation, we
develop awareness of our own bodies and breath and a
welcoming friendliness towards ourselves and all living
beings. In ritual, we use body, speech and mind to
engage our emotions for the task of transformation. With
bodywork, we explore the different aspects of our
physical experience.

This practice takes place in a broader context: in the hills
and woods of summer Leitrim, in the physical experience
of camping and practicing in the open air, in the pagan
environment of the Grove of Sinann
, and in what we believe is the first
child-friendly Buddhist retreat to be held in Ireland, with
childcare facilities provided.

The retreat is suitable for beginners as well as more
experienced meditators. Food will be vegetarian and
based as far as possible on organic and local produce.
The retreat will last from dinner on the Friday until the
afternoon of the Monday. Buddhafield Ireland is a non-
profit organisation, and fees will be set accordingly.
Booking details will be available later in the year. If you
wish to be kept informed, please contact Penny
Iremonger at or tel. (01)
2194888.

Trots + meditation = Permanent Relaxation.

The author who was listed on this post is one example of this.

Can regulars put their disagreements to one side and try to point out / deal with any suspicious posts/comments that appear to be impersonations of regulars/others.

Someone is stirring the shit in new ways around here to create distrust and suspicion among users of the site.

We need to deal with this and suggestions and thoughts on this would be useful and welcome.

However it would be revolutionary if political parties included meditation in their manifesto particular under healthcare, education or criminal rehabilation.

i didnt really think it was Kevin. at least this time it wasnt damaging to the person imitated.

Maybe a log in would help. but that wouldnt stop people from having multiple email adds & usernames.

RBB, Nora G, Kevin, John Throne, Ray, Pat C, Oisin, Brian Cahill,Samba Band Joe, Magneto nand many others. all have been impersonated at one stage or another.

sometimes its been funny (like when the fake Nora G denounced Ray and me as petit bourgeois opportunists) but it can be annoying and damagng to the person impersonated.

dont know how it can be stopped without destroying the ethos of indymedia.

Two crucial issues faces correctional systems today: excessive levels of stress for correctional staff and inmates, and high rates of recidivism.

The post is genuine enough. I circulated it yesterday to various people, and somebody's forwarded it here. I've no idea who forwarded it, and apologies if they've taken someone else's name to do so.

We don't generally get Trots at these events, but the odd anarchist, eco-warrior, community activist, RTSer definitely!

The reason that I ask is that this announcement is probably only going to stay visible on the newswire for one or two days (because that's how fast the newswire moves), and your event is occuring in mid-August. So, it'd be good to leave an announcement in a place that people can check e.g. on protest.net

This problem is not solved by you reposting the event (that'd be a repeat post and I'd delete it -- not having a go at you personally, not saying that you'd do that, just pointing out the problem) so the best thing is to add it to protest.net

Of course, you and others don't have to do this -- I'm just pointing out how the site works in case of public confusion.

Thanks.
