 Residents Against Racism have asked me to post this notice. If people are available for an hour or so in the morning try to make it to Ranelagh. Residents Against Racism protest in support of Christina Onasanwo. Picket at Minster for Justice Michael McDowell's constituency clinic in Ranelagh. Saturday 3rd May at 10am. Protest takes place at McDowell's office, which is opposite the Triangle in Ranelagh (Dublin 6). A few doors down from Jasons Snooker Hall. The 11/11a/11b bus will bring you closest to it. ***************** Background to the case Minster Micahel McDowell has issued a deportation order to send 18-year-old Christina Onasanwo and her family to Nigeria. The family, who have been served with a deportation order, originally fled from Nigeria in 1999 because Christina and her younger sister Bolu were at risk from Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) which had been ordered by the tribal elders. The procedure can often result in death from bleeding, shock, infection or tetanus. As a result of the impending deportation the girls' mother, Elizabeth has suffered a nervous breakdown and has been in psychiatric care as she witnessed her sister die from the same procedure. 135 million of the world's women and young girls have been genitally mutilated. Two million are at risk every year, which works out at approximately 6,000 per day Minister Michael McDowell is placing Christina and her six-year-old sister's lives in danger by issuing a deportation order to the family.

Now, about this family, can't they live in a part of Nigeria where their tribe has no influence? Nigeria is a very rich country cos if it's oil. must be plenty of jobs over there. Beats travelling thousans of miles to end up doing the crap jobs that Irish people don't want to do.

Racism is a phenomena that exists only in capitalist society. Capitalism maintains and increases racism by putting people against each other in hostile situtation. There is no racism in true socialism. It is impossible, because in socialism people are equal. That is the fundamental idea of socialism. In socialism skin colour doesn’t matter, the only thing that matters is you and your thoughts.
Great leader comrade Kim Il Sung had friends all around the world. He was ’colourblind’. He was truly a great man, he said no to racism. He supported all nations to live peacefully with each other. He formed Juche studygroups to Africa and helped ignorant black people in jungles to understand fully how they were oppressed by capitalism, imperialism and racism. Great leader Kim Il Sung was truly a great friend of all freedom loving people in Africa and elsewhere too. Great leader comrade Kim Il Sung is remembered in Africa as a great liberator and friend of black people.
There is no racism in socialist Korea and never will be! Leader Kim Jong Il will not tolerate racism in his country. Black people too can walk freely in the streets on Pyongyang. There will be no problem because there are no nazis, fascists etc in Korea. There is only one race in socialist Korea. It is the race of working people. All my life i have wanted to be more like great leader Kim Il Sung and dear leader Kim Jong Il. I have never ever had any racist thoughts in my head. I say that we have to open our eyes and free our minds. We must join together under the leadership of comrade Kim Jong Il and say no to racism!

Nah, Ray hasn't been claimed by the evil forces; he was just moving the Kim-is-good article to the article on racism that went up just before it. Though I don't want to put words in his mouth I doubt if he has anything to say on its content ;)
I put up the original post as a favour and to bring the protest to peoples attention.
What is all this North Korea crap? I used to find all that stuff amusing, but not if it obscures a serious message about racism in Ireland. How about a separate thread for lunatics to ramble about 'juche', etc.
Anyway, CALLING ALL NORMAL PEOPLE, please make it to the protest if you can and ignore the rambling above.

Same old reflex action from some people. I suppose they work for a refugee organisation so see racism in everything, even the Tweenies.
I know that some refugees are highly qualified people but the vast majority end up doing the crap jobs.

Did I? It's the state of things at the moment that immigrants end up doing crap jobs, which is why I said that this family would probably be better off in Nigeria, in some area not ruled by a tribe which is into GM.
There's nothing racist in that, I'm just reflecting the facts.
We've no obligation to keep anyone unless they are in danger if they return home. I'm sure this tribe has no power in Lagos so they will be quite safe there.

Kevin you say "Ireland for the Irish" but in your related link you have an american organistion, surely given your expressed ideology, then this natall organistion is, given american history of intermarriage along ethnic groups, filled with, what you have called "bastard half-breeds".

Also to helps you all understand you can your clarify the following catgories of people as being "Irish" in your view.
A) Irish Protestants
B) Irish Jews
C) Irish Travellers
D) Black Irish
E) Asylum seekers who have become Irish citizens
F) Those who are naturalised Irish Citizens through marriage.
I am sure there are a bunch of other categories of "Irishness" that I have overlooked but this might get you started.
